The Winchester SXP Upland Field is a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun that proves decorative embellishment belongs on more than just side-by-sides and over-unders. This is a working gun with aesthetic character—the kind you'll actually want to display between seasons rather than hide in a case. An engraved upland game scene adorns the matte nickel receiver, complemented by Grade II/III Turkish walnut furniture with a satin varnish finish and a blued barrel and magazine tube. It's the modern equivalent of the pride Winchester took in pump guns decades ago, built for hunters who refuse to compromise between form and function.
The 12-gauge chamber handles 3-inch shells, and the 28-inch barrel pairs a ventilated rib with a chrome-plated chamber and bore for durability in the field. The action cycles smoothly and reliably—Winchester's SXP platform is known for it—while the Inflex Technology recoil pad absorbs the punch without feeling mushy. Three Invector-Plus choke tubes (F, M, IC) come in the box, giving you flexibility to dial in patterns for everything from close-flushing birds to longer open-country work. A TRUGLO fiber-optic sight speeds target acquisition in low light.
This shotgun isn't trying to be anything other than what it is: a no-frills, purposeful upland gun with genuine craftsmanship and eye appeal. It swings naturally, points where you expect it to, and looks good doing it. If you've spent years shooting utilitarian pumps and wondered why shotguns with this kind of finish work don't exist anymore, Winchester's answer is here.

Frequently Asked Questions
What choke tubes come with the Winchester SXP Upland Field?
Three Invector-Plus choke tubes are included: Full (F), Modified (M), and Improved Cylinder (IC). They give you the flexibility to dial in patterns for different hunting situations without buying additional tubes.
Is this shotgun suitable for upland bird hunting?
Yes. The 28-inch barrel, ventilated rib, and fiber-optic sight are all configured for upland work—flushing quail, pheasants, and grouse. The 12-gauge with a 3-inch chamber and included chokes covers the range of typical upland scenarios.
What is the finish like on the receiver and barrel?
The receiver features a matte nickel finish with an engraved upland scene. The barrel is matte blued with a ventilated rib. Both finishes are durable and resist corrosion in field conditions. The contrast between the nickel receiver and blued barrel is part of the gun's visual appeal.
Can I use this gun for waterfowl or other shotgun sports?
The facts provided describe this as an upland field shotgun with a 28-inch barrel configured for that purpose. For use outside upland hunting, consult Winchester's specifications or contact us directly to confirm suitability for your intended use.
