The Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in 7mm Rem Mag is a premium hunting rifle that combines classic aesthetics with a proven, hard-working action. Built on Winchester's legendary pre-64 controlled-feed design, this rifle is purpose-built for hunters who demand reliability, accuracy, and a firearm that looks as good in the field as it performs downrange. The 26-inch free-floating barrel and target crown deliver the consistency serious riflemen expect, while the polished blued steel receiver and hammer-forged barrel wear their finish like a tool meant to last generations.

What sets the Super Grade apart is its attention to detail. The AAA maple stock with gloss finish and ebony forearm tip gives this rifle genuine presence—this isn't a tacticool build, it's a hunting rifle that respects tradition. The shadowline cheekpiece provides a natural, comfortable sight picture whether you're using open sights or mounting glass. Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System gives you a clean, predictable break, and the three-position safety lets you carry ready or lock down completely. The controlled round feed and controlled ejection ensure smooth cycling every time, whether you're working a magazine or single-feeding for that critical shot.

Built-in quality touches run throughout: the jeweled bolt body and knurled bolt handle aren't just eye candy, they reduce friction and feel right in your hand. The hinged floorplate—engraved as befits a Super Grade—remains accessible when you need it. A Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad tames the 7mm Rem Mag's kick, and sling swivel studs come drilled and ready for field use. This is a rifle that respects the hunter's time and investment.

The 7mm Rem Mag is one of the most versatile magnum cartridges in North America—capable of everything from whitetail to elk to long-range hunting across open country. Pair that round with the Model 70's proven action, and you have a rifle built to succeed whether you're working timber at 100 yards or glassing the ridgeline at 400.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Winchester Model 70 Super Grade a good rifle for hunting elk or long-range game?

Yes. The 7mm Rem Mag is one of the most capable magnums in North America for hunting elk, mule deer, and similar game at extended range. The free-floating barrel and target crown deliver the accuracy needed for longer shots, and the controlled-feed action ensures reliability when it matters. The Pre-64 action is renowned for strength and reliability in the field.

Does this rifle come with a scope or mounts?

The rifle does not include a scope or mount bases. However, it is drilled and tapped for standard scope mounts, so you can choose the rings and bases that suit your optics and mounting preference.

What does the M.O.A. Trigger System do?

Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System is the factory trigger on this rifle. It provides a clean, consistent break for improved accuracy. The exact pull weight and adjustability are factory-set; this is not an aftermarket match trigger, but a reliable field trigger that works well for hunting.

What is the difference between the Super Grade and standard Model 70?

The Super Grade is Winchester's premium variant of the Model 70 and features upgraded aesthetics and details: an AAA maple stock with gloss finish (versus standard synthetic or lower-grade wood), shadowline cheekpiece, engraved hinged floorplate, jeweled bolt body, and knurled bolt handle. These refinements make it a more traditional, custom-finished rifle while maintaining the same proven action and reliability.
