The Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in .308 Winchester with a 22-inch barrel and AAA maple stock represents the pinnacle of Winchester's classic bolt-action rifle heritage. Built on the legendary Pre-64 action that defined American hunting rifles, this Super Grade combines meticulous craftsmanship with the kind of reliable performance that works equally well on a long-range precision range or in the field chasing elk and deer. The free-floating barrel and target crown ensure the accuracy you demand, while the gloss-finished maple wood and polished blued steel create a rifle that looks as good as it shoots.
Every detail on this Model 70 speaks to deliberate engineering. The three-position safety provides intuitive control, while the M.O.A. trigger system breaks clean for hunting or target work. Controlled round feed and controlled ejection—hallmarks of the Pre-64 design—mean you can trust this action in the moments that matter. The jeweled bolt body and knurled bolt handle aren't just eye candy; they improve function and durability under hard use. That maple stock with its shadowline cheekpiece and ebony forearm tip isn't just AAA grade wood—it's a working platform that manages recoil and holds position shot after shot, backed by the Pachmayr Decelerator pad.
Whether you're building a serious hunting rifle, assembling a collection of Winchester classics, or stepping up to a purpose-built .308 for medium to long-range work, the Model 70 Super Grade delivers the accuracy, handling, and reliability that made Winchester synonymous with American hunting rifles. This is a rifle built to last generations and perform under real conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Pre-64 action different from modern Winchester actions?
The Pre-64 design emphasizes controlled round feed and controlled ejection, providing reliable feeding and extraction that many shooters and hunters prefer. It's a proven, time-tested action that has remained virtually unchanged because it works—particularly for hunters who need dependable performance when it counts.
Is this Model 70 suitable for long-range hunting and target shooting?
Yes. The free-floating barrel, target crown, and M.O.A. trigger system combine to deliver the accuracy needed for both disciplines. The .308 Winchester cartridge is also well-suited to medium and long-range work, making this a capable rifle for both hunting and precision range use.
What's included with this rifle?
The Model 70 comes equipped with sling swivel studs for attaching a hunting sling. The Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad is factory installed. Always verify your specific configuration and any included accessories with your dealer.
Will this maple stock hold up in the field?
AAA maple is premium hardwood, and the gloss finish on this Super Grade provides protection and durability for field use. The ebony forearm tip adds reinforcement where it matters most. Like any wood stock, it benefits from responsible care, but it's built to last under real hunting conditions.
