The Winchester 70 Super Grade in .270 Win is a bolt-action hunting rifle that combines classic American gunmaking with refined materials and meticulous engineering. Built around Winchester's proven Model 70 platform, the Super Grade targets serious hunters and marksmen who want a rifle that performs as beautifully as it looks. The .270 Winchester is a time-tested cartridge for medium to large game at hunting distances, and this rifle's design philosophy prioritizes accuracy, handling, and longevity.

What sets the Super Grade apart is its attention to detail. Grade IV/V fancy walnut with a shadowline cheekpiece doesn't just look premium—the cheekpiece geometry actually positions your head consistently for proper scope alignment, reducing shooting errors from inconsistent eye relief. The stock is bedded both front and rear to a forged steel receiver with an integral recoil lug, a precision arrangement that keeps zero stable through hunting seasons. Winchester's pre-'64 style controlled round feed system and claw extractor give you full mechanical control of every round from magazine to chamber to ejection, a reliability foundation that still matters in the field.

The cold hammer-forged, free-floated 24-inch barrel with recessed target crown is built for accuracy without requiring you to babysit break-in rituals. Winchester's M.O.A. trigger system delivers a crisp release with zero creep and zero overtravel—the kind of trigger that lets your shot technique shine. Highly polished metal surfaces aren't just cosmetic; they reflect Winchester's standard for fit and finish on a rifle at this level. The one-piece bottom metal with steel floorplate adds rigidity, and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad softens the .270's push without bulk.

At 8 lb 4 oz with a 44.75-inch overall length, the Super Grade balances substance and carry-ability. Three-position safety lets you confirm status at a glance, and sling swivel studs are factory inletted for your preferred carry method. This is a rifle built to hunt hard and last decades.

It's effective on medium to large game at typical hunting ranges, delivers good velocity with manageable recoil, and has decades of proven field performance. The Winchester 70's accuracy and build quality make it an excellent platform for this round.

What's included and what do I need to add?

The rifle comes ready to hunt with sling swivel studs inletted into the stock. You'll need to add a scope, scope rings and base, a sling, and ammunition. No gunsmith work is required for basic setup.

How does the controlled round feed system improve reliability?
