The Winchester 70 Super Grade in .264 Win Mag is a refined long-range hunting rifle built on the legacy of America's most respected bolt-action platform. This isn't a tactical gun or a budget option—it's a purpose-built centerpiece for hunters who demand both aesthetics and performance, with the caliber choice reflecting serious intent for extended-range work on medium to large game. The Super Grade combines classic Winchester engineering with the kind of fit and finish you'll want to own for decades.
What sets the Super Grade apart starts with Grade IV/V fancy walnut and highly polished blued steel that reward a closer look. The shadowline cheekpiece isn't just for show; it positions your head naturally for consistent scope alignment shot after shot. A one-piece steel bottom metal and decorative crossbolt stiffen the entire stock-to-action interface, which matters when you're stretching shots beyond 300 yards. The forged steel receiver features pre-'64 style controlled round feed with a claw extractor—the kind of mechanical reliability that keeps working when conditions get rough.
Accuracy comes from a cold hammer-forged, free-floated barrel with a recessed target crown, backed by Winchester's M.O.A. trigger system tuned for zero creep and overtravel. The long action accommodates the .264 Win Mag's larger cartridge efficiently, cycling 3-round magazines with authority. At 8 lbs 8 oz with a 26-inch barrel, the gun balances weight and velocity for a practical hunting rig that won't beat you up during the walk out—the Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad handles the magnum's punch. The three-position safety keeps your intentions clear at any moment.
This is a rifle for the hunter who respects tradition but expects modern accuracy, who understands that a quality firearm appreciates rather than depreciates, and who knows that the .264 Win Mag deserves a platform worthy of its reach.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Winchester 70 Super Grade a good choice for long-range hunting?
Yes. The .264 Win Mag is a capable long-range caliber with a flat trajectory and retained energy over distance. The Super Grade's cold hammer-forged, free-floated barrel, M.O.A. trigger, and rigid stock-to-action bedding support the accuracy needed for extended-range work. The shadowline cheekpiece also helps you maintain consistent head position for reliable scope alignment.
What is the magazine capacity and is the rifle set up for a scope?
The Super Grade holds 3 rounds in a single-stack magazine. The rifle ships as a barreled action; mounting rings and a scope are not included and must be added separately. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for standard Weaver-style bases.
Does the Super Grade come with a sling?
No. The rifle has inletted sling swivel studs, so you can attach your own sling of choice.
Is the stock finished or will I need to refinish the walnut?
The Grade IV/V fancy walnut stock arrives finished and ready to use. The highly polished blued metal also requires no refinishing out of the box.
