Winchester 70 Featherweight 6.8Wst Ns
- Caliber-Gauge:
- 6.8 Western
The Winchester 70 Featherweight in 6.8 Western is a classic bolt-action hunting rifle built for hunters who refuse to compromise between power and portability. This is Winchester's iconic Featherweight platform—a rifle that's earned its reputation across generations of backcountry hunts and open-country stalks. The 6.8 Western cartridge delivers modern ballistics in a package that doesn't punish you on the hike in or out.
What makes the Featherweight unmistakable is its purposeful design: a satin-finished walnut stock with traditional checkering and a Schnabel fore-end that feels right in your hands. The polished metal surfaces and forged steel receiver give it that refined, purposeful look—not flashy, just honest. Under the wood sits an alloy one-piece bottom metal that adds rigidity where it counts, and the free-floating, cold hammer-forged barrel is tuned for accuracy without the fuss of constant tweaking.
The mechanical foundation is where the Featherweight proves itself. Winchester's controlled round feed system with claw extractor manages every cartridge with absolute authority, from magazine to chamber to ejection. The forged steel receiver features an integral recoil lug bedded front and rear, eliminating zero shift over time—critical for a rifle you're counting on. The M.O.A. trigger system delivers a clean break with zero creep and overtravel, making accurate shots repeatable. A recessed target crown protects the rifling and enhances downrange precision, while the Pachmayr Decelerator pad tames recoil impulse so you stay on target for follow-ups.
This is a rifle for hunters who understand that sometimes the lightest gun is the one you actually bring. The Featherweight in 6.8 Western splits the difference: contemporary cartridge performance in a classic, reliable platform that's proven itself under real-world conditions.
