The Winchester Model 70 Featherweight in .30-06 Springfield is a modern take on the most iconic American hunting rifle. Built on the legendary Model 70 action, this bolt-action rifle combines classic hunting aesthetics with proven accuracy and reliability—ideal for hunters who need a rifle that handles fast in the field and delivers when it counts at distance.
At 7 pounds with a 22-inch barrel, the Featherweight lives up to its name without sacrificing the rigidity needed for precision shooting. The satin black walnut stock features the signature Featherweight cut checkering and Schnabel forearm that have made this rifle a standard-bearer for generations. Polished metal surfaces give it an understated elegance that works in a gun cabinet or a truck rack. Inside, the action uses pre-'64 controlled round feed with a claw extractor—a design that fully commands the cartridge from magazine to chamber to ejection, giving you one less thing to worry about when the moment matters.
Winchester equipped this rifle with their M.O.A. Trigger System, which delivers zero take-up, zero creep, and zero overtravel for the kind of predictable break that separates good shots from great ones. The cold hammer-forged, free-floating barrel is topped with a recessed target crown to protect the rifling and support accuracy over years of use. The forged steel receiver features an integral recoil lug bedded front and rear to eliminate shift and maintain zero. A Pachmayr Decelerator pad manages recoil without requiring you to think about it.
The three-position safety lets you see your safety status at a glance, and the jeweled bolt body with knurled handle adds tactile refinement to every cycle. Whether you're hunting elk in the high country, deer in the timber, or taking shots at the range, the Model 70 Featherweight has been proven across decades and across North America.
