The Weatherby Vanguard VGD Sporter in .350 Legend is a bolt-action rifle built for hunters who want proven accuracy without the complexity or cost of a magnum. It's a legit sub-MOA shooter right out of the box—Weatherby backs that claim with a factory guarantee of .99-inch groups at 100 yards when you run their premium ammo. For deer and medium game at reasonable hunting distances, the .350 Legend offers low recoil, manageable noise, and the kind of everyday practicality that makes a rifle get used instead of babied.

This is a rifle that doesn't try to be something it isn't. The VGD Sporter combines a cold hammer-forged barrel with a one-piece machined bolt body and fully enclosed bolt sleeve—Weatherby's time-tested Vanguard platform, proven in the field for decades. The fluted bolt body keeps weight down without sacrificing strength, and the integral recoil lug anchors the barrel where it counts. You get a match-quality two-stage trigger adjustable down to 2.5 pounds, giving you clean, predictable breaks whether you're at the range or waiting for your shot.

The stock is where Weatherby didn't cut corners. A-grade Turkish walnut with a raised comb Monte Carlo shape gives you a solid cheekweld and natural pointing angle. Rosewood forend cap and fineline diamond checkering aren't just for looks—they add grip and show this rifle has some pedigree. The matte bead blasted blued finish handles the weather and won't flash in the sun. A hinged floorplate makes loading intuitive, the three-position safety is easy to manipulate, and the Vanguard recoil pad will take the bite out of extended shooting sessions.

If you hunt in brush, prefer lighter recoil, or just want a rifle that shoots straight without drama, the Weatherby Vanguard in .350 Legend delivers on all fronts.

Yes. The match-quality two-stage trigger is fully adjustable, and you can dial it down as low as 2.5 pounds for a clean, predictable break.

What caliber is it, and what's it good for?

The Weatherby Vanguard VGD Sporter is chambered in .350 Legend, a straight-wall cartridge developed for deer and medium game hunting. It delivers low recoil and reduced noise compared to traditional hunting calibers, making it practical for hunters who value ease of shooting and moderate effective ranges.

What warranty does Weatherby offer?

Weatherby backs the accuracy guarantee for two years from the verified purchase date to the original purchaser, provided you're using their factory or premium ammunition. For complete warranty details, refer to Weatherby's standard warranty documentation.
