Spiral, Fluted Steel

The Weatherby Vanguard VGD Outfitter in 22-250 Rem is a bolt-action rifle built for hunters who need reliability and precision without compromise. Based on Weatherby's proven Vanguard platform—a design refined over five decades—the Outfitter pairs a hammer-forged barrel with a modern, weather-resistant finish tailored for high-country and backcountry hunts where conditions test gear and nerve alike.

What sets this rifle apart is its attention to hard-use detail. The spiral-fluted barrel reduces weight while improving rigidity, the Cerakote finish on barrel, receiver, bolt, and safety stands up to rain, snow, and pack rubs, and the tan polymer Monte Carlo stock with brown-and-white sponge paint breaks up your outline in rough terrain. The integral recoil lug anchors the action securely, and the crisp two-position trigger gives you confidence at the shot.

The 22-250 Rem caliber is a flat-shooting, relatively mild-recoiling varmint and predator round that handles extended range work without the punishing recoil of larger magnums—ideal if you're glassing hillsides all day or need to stay steady for precision shooting. Whether you're heading into the high country for mule deer, elk, or long-range varmint work, this Vanguard is built to earn its place in your gun cabinet.
