The Weatherby Mark V Apex 7mm PRC bolt-action rifle combines proven long-range accuracy with a lightweight, purpose-built platform for serious hunters. Built on Weatherby's legendary Mark V steel action, this 28-inch barrel rifle is engineered to deliver consistent downrange performance without excess weight in the field. The 7mm PRC cartridge sits at the sweet spot for medium-to-long-range hunting, offering flat trajectory and energy retention that rewards precision shooting.
You'll notice the rifle's distinctive two-tone aesthetic right away: a fluted barrel finished in Coyote Tan and Graphite Black Cerakote, paired with a Coyote Tan receiver and trigger guard. The bolt, bolt knob, and safety are finished in Graphite Black. These aren't just cosmetic choices—the fluted barrel reduces overall weight while maintaining rigidity, and Cerakote finish offers excellent corrosion resistance for backcountry use. The exposed carbon fiber stock with tan and brown sponge pattern accents reinforces that lightweight ethos while delivering the handling feel that separates a working rifle from a range queen.
Whether you're glassing alpine basins, hunting in unpredictable weather, or working up loads for precision at distance, the Mark V Apex delivers the accuracy, reliability, and light-to-the-hand carry that hunters demand. This is a rifle built to perform when conditions matter.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the advantage of the fluted barrel on a hunting rifle?
Fluting reduces barrel weight while maintaining rigidity and heat dissipation—critical when you're carrying your rifle miles into the backcountry. The Weatherby Mark V Apex's fluted design helps keep the rifle balanced and handy without sacrificing the stiffness needed for consistent accuracy.
Is the 7mm PRC a good caliber for long-range hunting?
Yes. The 7mm PRC is designed for modern, long-range hunting applications, offering a flat trajectory and retained energy at distance. Paired with Weatherby's Mark V platform, it's an excellent choice for hunters pursuing medium to larger game at extended ranges.
What's the carbon fiber stock contribute to this rifle?
The exposed carbon fiber stock is a weight-saving material that improves the rifle's overall balance and portability without sacrificing durability. Combined with the fluted barrel, it positions the Mark V Apex as a serious lightweight hunting option.
Will the Cerakote finish hold up in field conditions?
Cerakote is a ceramic-polymer hybrid finish prized for corrosion resistance and durability in harsh environments. It's widely used on professional and hunting rifles specifically because it stands up to moisture, salt, and rough handling.
