The Weatherby Mark V Weathermark LT 6.5 RPM is a lightweight backcountry rifle engineered for hunters who cover serious ground. At 5.9 pounds, this is a rifle you'll actually want to pack—not a compromise you'll regret. The 6-lug action and #2 contour fluted barrel strip away unnecessary weight without sacrificing the accuracy and strength that define Weatherby's Mark V platform. Whether you're glassing from a ridgeline or making a cross-canyon shot after a long stalk, this rifle delivers the sub-MOA performance that separates good days from great ones.

The stock is where the Weathermark LT really earns its name: a hand-laid fiberglass Monte Carlo with aluminum bedding blocks gives you a rigid platform despite the lighter build. The FDE speckle finish on that stock isn't just aesthetic—it's practical camouflage that blends into sagebrush, juniper, and high-desert rock. The metalwork wears a matching FDE Cerakote, while the bolt and safety receive a contrasting graphite black finish for durability and visual balance.

Weatherby spec'd this rifle for serious long-range work: the 24-inch #1 MOD contour barrel is fluted to reduce weight, features a 1-in-8 twist for heavier 6.5 RPM loads, and comes ready for a suppressor or brake. The spiral fluted bolt body continues the weight-saving theme without compromise. A four-plus-one magazine gives you reasonable capacity for hunting situations, and the 13.625-inch length of pull fits most shooters comfortably.

The Cerakote finish on all metal surfaces—receiver, trigger guard, and brake included—is built to handle real field use: dust, rain, sweat, and the kind of weather that comes with the name Weathermark. If you're serious about backcountry hunting and need a rifle that won't slow you down, the Mark V Weathermark LT in 6.5 RPM is worth the hard look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle suitable for long-range hunting?

Yes. The Mark V Weathermark LT is built for precision work at distance: the 6-lug action delivers sub-MOA accuracy, the 24-inch fluted barrel with 1-in-8 twist handles modern 6.5 RPM loads, and the aluminum-bedded stock provides a stable platform. The rifle is also threaded and ready for a suppressor or brake if you're setting up a complete long-range system.

Will this rifle work for backcountry and mountain hunting?

Absolutely. At 5.9 pounds, the Weathermark LT is designed specifically for hunters who need to cover ground. The lightweight profile doesn't compromise on accuracy or durability—the Cerakote finish and rigid fiberglass stock ensure reliability in harsh conditions. The practical FDE speckle finish also blends well in high-desert and alpine terrain.

What finish is on the stock and metalwork?

The metalwork (receiver, barrel, trigger guard, brake, and lug area) is finished in FDE Cerakote for a cohesive field aesthetic. The bolt, bolt knob, and safety receive graphite black Cerakote for contrast and durability. The stock is hand-laid fiberglass with a green base and FDE speckle pattern.

What is the effective length of pull, and will it fit me?

The length of pull is 13.625 inches. Most average to larger adult shooters will find this comfortable for hunting use. If you have an exceptionally short or long arm, consult Weatherby's fit guidelines or contact us for advice on whether this rifle is the right match for your frame.
