The Weatherby Mark V Accumark in 7 PRC is a bolt-action rifle built for shooters who demand long-range accuracy without compromise. Chambered in the modern 7 PRC cartridge, this rifle pairs Weatherby's renowned Mark V action with a #3 contour barrel engineered for precision shooting. If you're serious about reaching out to distant targets—whether hunting elk in the high country or punching steel at the range—the Accumark delivers the mechanical accuracy and refined craftsmanship that have made the Mark V platform a benchmark in American rifle design.

The rifle's 2-toned finish sets it apart: the barrel features fluted contours with a spun stainless base and graphite black Cerakote coating that resists corrosion while keeping weight down. The receiver, bolt, bolt knob, and safety are finished in graphite black Cerakote for a cohesive, no-nonsense aesthetic. The hand-laid fiberglass stock employs a raised Monte Carlo comb, matte gel coat, and spiderweb accents—practical design choices that enhance control and durability in the field while maintaining the classic Weatherby profile.

Built on a foundation of proven metallurgy and meticulous manufacturing, the Accumark represents the evolution of a rifle action that has earned respect among long-range hunters and competitive shooters for decades. The combination of the #3 contour barrel and the 7 PRC cartridge makes this a capable platform for anyone pushing the limits of effective hunting range or looking to build a precision-focused rifle without starting from scratch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 7 PRC and why choose it for long-range hunting?

The 7 PRC (Precision Rifle Cartridge) is a modern magnum round designed for extended-range shooting and hunting. It's a capable cartridge for hunters working at distances beyond typical hunting ranges, offering good velocity and energy retention downrange while maintaining manageable recoil relative to larger magnums.

Is the Mark V Accumark suitable for long-range shooting competitions?

Yes. The Mark V action is renowned for accuracy, and the #3 contour barrel combined with the 7 PRC chambering makes the Accumark a solid choice for precision shooting. The rifle's foundation supports consistent, tight-group shooting at extended distances.

What does the fluted barrel do and why does it matter?

Fluting removes material from the barrel while maintaining stiffness, reducing overall rifle weight. This improves handling without sacrificing the barrel's rigidity—important for accuracy. The fluting also increases surface area, aiding cooling during extended shooting sessions.

How does the fiberglass stock compare to other materials?

Hand-laid fiberglass stocks are durable, weather-resistant, and dimensionally stable across temperature changes—practical traits for a hunting rifle. The raised Monte Carlo comb and spiderweb accents on this stock provide ergonomic control and visual distinction while the matte finish resists glare in the field.
