The Tokarev TAR 12MP is a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun built for shooters who want AR-platform ergonomics and modularity in a fighting shotgun. With an 18.5" barrel and 3" chamber, it handles standard and magnum loads alike, making it versatile for home defense, tactical training, or sport shooting. The nickel marine finish resists corrosion in harsh environments, while the gas-operated system delivers reliable cycling across a range of ammunition types.

What sets the TAR 12MP apart is its AR-style controls and ergonomics: ambidextrous safety lever, M1913 optics rail for mounting red dots or magnified optics, and lightweight polymer folding sights for backup aiming. The 5-round detachable box magazine comes standard, and larger-capacity options (10-round and 20-round drum magazines) are available separately. The included choke tube kit provides Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder tubes plus a wrench, letting you fine-tune your shot spread from tight patterns to open dispersal—Benelli/Mobil pattern compatibility means aftermarket options abound.

The 4140 proof-tested barrel meets rigorous safety standards, and the shotgun ships with an owner's manual to get you started. Whether you're running drills at the range, setting up a home defense rig, or building a semi-auto shotgun platform, the TAR 12MP delivers functional, no-frills performance at a straightforward value.

Frequently Asked Questions

What choke tubes does the TAR 12MP accept?

The shotgun uses the Benelli/Mobil choke pattern. It comes with Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder tubes, and this widespread pattern means plenty of aftermarket options are available for specialized loads or hunting scenarios.

Can I use standard 2.75" shells in a 3" chamber shotgun?

Yes. The 3" chamber safely accommodates both 2.75" and 3" ammunition, giving you flexibility to shoot lighter target loads or heavier magnum rounds depending on your need.

What optics can I mount on the TAR 12MP?

The integrated M1913 Picatinny rail accepts any standard optics mount—red dots, magnified scopes, holographic sights, or backup irons all work with standard Picatinny rings and adapters.

Does the TAR 12MP come with a magazine?

Yes, a 5-round detachable magazine is included. Larger-capacity 10-round box magazines and 20-round drum magazines are sold separately.
