The Taylors & Company 1894 .30-30 Win lever action carbine is a faithful reproduction of one of America's most iconic hunting rifles. Built on the platform that defined American sporting rifles for over a century, this 20-inch carbine delivers the quick-handling, reliable performance that made the original a standard for deer hunters and brush-country shooters. Chambered in .30-30 Winchester—one of the most versatile and forgiving big-game cartridges ever developed—it's equally at home in thick timber or on the range. At 7.05 pounds and 37.5 inches overall, it swings fast and carries easy, the way a hunting carbine should.

This brown-finished Model 700104 pairs a case-hardened receiver with checkered walnut furniture, giving it the classic lines and feel that hunters have trusted for generations. The fixed buckhorn rear sight and front blade are positioned for instinctive aiming at practical hunting distances, and the 10-round magazine capacity means you can load and hunt without constant reloading. The lever action cycles smoothly and points naturally—once you shoulder one, you'll understand why this design refused to become obsolete.

Whether you're hunting whitetail in dense cover, working a mountain ridge, or simply appreciating a firearm that has proven itself across more than a century of hard use, the 1894 carbine remains a no-nonsense choice. It's a rifle that respects tradition without apologizing for it, and delivers accuracy and reliability when it matters most.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the .30-30 Winchester good for?

The .30-30 is one of the most popular hunting cartridges for medium-sized game, particularly whitetail deer. It's effective at typical hunting ranges, generates moderate recoil, and ammunition remains widely available and affordable. It's also a proven round for hunting in brush and timber where longer-range shots are less common.

Is this carbine suitable for new shooters?

Yes. The .30-30's moderate recoil, the carbine's light weight, and the lever action's intuitive operation make it approachable for hunters and shooters gaining experience. The fixed sights are simple and reliable, requiring no batteries or complex adjustment.

What does "case-hardened frame" mean?

Case hardening is a heat-treatment process that creates a hard, wear-resistant surface on the steel receiver while keeping the interior relatively softer and tougher. It's both a functional durability choice and a traditional aesthetic that gives the rifle its distinctive brown and mottled coloring.

How many rounds does it hold?

The magazine capacity is 10 rounds of .30-30 Winchester ammunition.
