The Cimarron 1894 CA2904 26" Octagonal Barrel 30-30 Lever-Action Rifle brings authentic Old West craftsmanship to modern hunters and sport shooters. Built on John Browning's legendary 1894 design—one of America's most enduring lever-action platforms—this rifle chambers the .30-30 Winchester, the cartridge that proved smokeless powder could work reliably in a repeating rifle. That historical significance matters less than what it means today: a time-tested, dependable platform that's earned its place in hunting camps and sport shooting circles for over a century.

Cimarron Firearms specializes in faithful recreations of classic American rifles, and this 1894 stays true to that tradition with its octagonal barrel profile—a distinctive aesthetic that harks back to the rifle's 19th-century roots without sacrificing modern manufacturing standards. The lever-action cycling is smooth and intuitive, the kind of manual of arms that hunters appreciate in brush country or tight quarters where a bolt-gun's operation can feel clunky. The 26-inch octagonal barrel balances sight radius and handling weight in a way that works equally well on a varmint range or in pursuit of whitetail and similar-sized game across open country.

If you're drawn to lever-action rifles for their mechanical elegance, historical legacy, or straightforward reliability, or if you simply prefer the ergonomics of manual cycling, the Cimarron 1894 delivers. It's the rifle for hunters and shooters who value proven design over trend, and who appreciate the satisfaction of operating a firearm that millions have depended on for generations.

Is the 1894 lever-action a good rifle for hunting?

Yes. The lever-action design is fast to operate, naturally points well, and the manual of arms suits hunters who prefer mechanical simplicity and reliability. The 26-inch octagonal barrel provides a good sight radius. The rifle's proven track record across multiple generations of hunters speaks to its effectiveness.
