The Taylors & Company 1873 Cattleman .45 LC 5.5" nickel revolver is a single-action revolver built for shooters who want authentic Peacemaker styling backed by serious construction. Whether you're into Cowboy Action Shooting, historical reenactment, or simply appreciate classic revolver ergonomics, this is a purpose-built gun that doesn't compromise on durability or feel. The nickel finish with charcoal-blue screws gives it a period-correct look that stands out, while the forged frame—rather than a cast one—delivers the grain structure and strength needed to handle regular shooting without concern.

Taylor's & Company engineered this Cattleman with competition and extended shooting sessions in mind. The forged frame construction means you're getting a revolver designed to last through years of use, whether that's rounds downrange or countless draws from the holster. At 2.3 pounds and 11 inches overall, it balances naturally in the hand—substantial enough to manage recoil but not so heavy that all-day carry becomes a burden. The 5.5-inch barrel is the sweet spot for many shooters: short enough for quick handling, long enough for decent sight radius and velocity from .45 LC ammunition.

The walnut grip and blade front sight keep things simple and functional. The New Model frame incorporates a plunger mechanism for cylinder pin removal, which makes field maintenance and cleaning straightforward—no fumbling with screws or pins when you need to swap out the cylinder. Capacity is six rounds, standard for the design. If you're accustomed to single-action operation and like knowing exactly what you're getting—a revolver that looks the part, handles naturally, and won't let you down—this nickel Cattleman deserves a close look.
