Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot .38 Special in this .357 Magnum Cattleman?

Yes. Revolvers chambered in .357 Magnum will safely fire .38 Special ammunition, making this gun versatile for target practice, lighter recoil loads, or reduced-power hunting scenarios.

Is this revolver suitable for hunting?

The 4.75-inch barrel and .357 Magnum chambering make it practical for hunting medium game and handgun hunting at typical revolver distances. The blade front sight allows point-of-aim shooting without optics.

What does "photo engraved" mean on the receiver?

Photo engraving applies a decorative pattern to the receiver surface using a photo-etching process, giving the revolver visual embellishment and character while keeping the cost lower than hand-engraved models.

What sights come on this revolver?

The 1873 Cattleman is equipped with a blade front sight. There is no rear sight specified; traditional 1873 models typically use an open notch at the rear of the frame for sighting.
