The Taylor's & Co 1873 Taylor Tuned lever action rifle in .357 Mag brings genuine cowboy-gun ergonomics and smooth, refined action to hunters and sport shooters who want classic Winchester-style reliability without the factory compromises. Built on the historic 1873 platform, this 20-inch octagonal-barrel rifle delivers the kind of dependable, fast-cycling performance that made lever guns legendary in the American West—and still works beautifully for hunting medium game, plinking, or just enjoying timeless rifle craft. At 7.9 lbs and 39 inches overall, it's nimble enough for brush and timber yet substantial enough to shoot straight.
What sets the Taylor Tuned model apart is the custom action work: hand-polished internals, tuned hammer and lever springs, a lightened and refined trigger pull, and a polished magazine tube spring that make every cycle smooth and predictable. This isn't a stock rifle; it's a thoughtfully upgraded gun that rewards careful shooting with a trigger and action you'll actually enjoy operating—especially if you're accustomed to rough factory levers. The walnut checkered pistol grip and forend balance traditional aesthetics with a solid grip platform, while the blue finish and case-hardened frame deliver that classic Winchester look.
Sighted in with buckhorn rear and blade front, it's ready to shoot once you zero it in. The 10-round .357 Mag capacity gives you enough firepower for hunting or competition, and .357 is efficient, readily available, and genuinely effective on deer and smaller game out to reasonable ranges. If you're building a lever-gun battery or want a rifle that bridges old-school charm and modern refinement, this is a serious choice.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Taylor Tuned action upgrade?
The Taylor Tuned option includes custom internal work: hand-polished action components, custom hammer and lever springs, a lightened and refined trigger pull, and a polished magazine tube spring. These changes result in a noticeably smoother cycle and more refined trigger break compared to a standard 1873.
Is this rifle good for hunting?
Yes. The .357 Magnum cartridge is effective for hunting deer and smaller game at reasonable distances. The lightweight, compact profile makes it handy in brush and timber, and the lever action cycles quickly for follow-up shots if needed.
What sights does it come with?
The rifle is equipped with a buckhorn rear sight and a blade front sight. These are traditional open sights suitable for hunting and sport shooting. You can replace them with aftermarket sights if you prefer, or add a scope mount if your intended use requires optics.
What's included with the rifle?
