The Taurus Raging Hunter .44 Magnum revolver is a serious big-bore hunting sidearm built for shooters who want real stopping power in a versatile package. With an 8.375" barrel and six-round capacity, this double-action/single-action revolver balances firepower with practical handling for short to medium-range hunting applications. The matte black finish gives it a classic, business-like appearance without the flash, and the optics-ready Picatinny rail lets you mount a red dot or low-power scope if your hunting situation demands it.

What sets the Raging Hunter apart from traditional large-frame .44 Magnums is its engineering approach to managing the cartridge's formidable recoil. The barrel incorporates a steel inner sleeve seated in an aluminum housing—a design that keeps weight in check (55 ounces) while maintaining the rigidity you need for accuracy. Factory-tuned porting and a gas expansion chamber are strategically placed to direct muzzle blast downward, reducing muzzle rise and getting you back on target faster for follow-up shots. The rubber grips feature a cushioned insert that absorbs shock without sacrificing control, critical when you're shooting a round as powerful as the .44 Magnum.

This is a revolver for hunters and shooters serious about big game at close range—everything from wild boar to large deer—or anyone who simply appreciates what a .44 Magnum can do. The fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight come ready to go, and the gun's overall balance and handling make it surprisingly shootable despite its power. It's a modern take on a venerable caliber: proven reliability, classic controls, and enough modern features to keep you competitive on today's hunt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mount a scope or red dot on the Raging Hunter?

Yes. The Raging Hunter features a factory-installed Picatinny rail that accepts standard tactical and hunting optics. You can mount a red dot sight for faster target acquisition or a low-power scope for extended-range hunting.

What is the Raging Hunter designed for?

This revolver is built as a hunting sidearm for short to medium-range applications. The .44 Magnum cartridge delivers the power needed for large game, while the 8.375" barrel and porting help manage recoil for quicker follow-up shots.

How does the barrel design reduce recoil?

The Raging Hunter uses a steel sleeve seated in an aluminum housing to maintain barrel rigidity while keeping overall weight manageable. The factory-tuned porting and gas expansion chamber direct muzzle blast downward, reducing muzzle rise and helping you track the target faster between shots.

Is this revolver comfortable to shoot?

The cushioned rubber grips are designed to absorb recoil and provide control during shooting. Combined with the porting system, the gun handles the .44 Magnum's power more comfortably than revolvers with traditional grips, though users should always expect significant recoil from a big-bore magnum round.
