The Taurus Judge Public Defender is a unique revolver that chambers both .410 bore shotgun shells and .45 Colt ammunition, giving you tactical flexibility in a compact, carry-friendly platform. Built on a small frame with a 2.5-inch barrel, this .410/45 Colt revolver is purpose-built for close-quarters defense and sport shooting. The FDE (Flat Dark Earth) polymer frame paired with an alloy steel cylinder delivers a rugged, modern aesthetic while keeping weight down to 27 ounces unloaded—light enough for everyday carry or truck gun duty without sacrificing durability.
What sets the Public Defender apart is its dual-caliber capability. Load .410 shotshells for wide shot patterns at close range, or swap to .45 Colt rounds for traditional revolver ballistics. The 5-round cylinder is manageable in size, and the single/double action trigger lets you run it however the situation demands. The fiber optic front sight and adjustable rear sight are built for quick target acquisition, while the transfer bar safety adds an extra layer of protection during carry or storage.
The ergonomic Taurus rubber grips and spurred hammer give you a solid purchase in your hand and allow for traditional fanning if needed. At 7.62 inches overall length and just 1.5 inches wide, the Judge Public Defender fits in holsters and gear designed for compact defense revolvers, making it a practical choice for hunters, sport shooters, and anyone looking for a nontraditional self-defense tool that doesn't compromise on quality or reliability.
