The Taurus G3C is a compact 9mm striker-fired pistol built for shooters who need genuine carry capability without compromise. If you're shopping for a reliable EDC handgun that doesn't break the bank, the G3C bridges the gap between full-size performance and pocket-friendly proportions. It scales down the proven G-series design to a frame that works in an IWB holster, jacket pocket, or ankle rig—while keeping the same trigger action and ergonomic bones that made Taurus's larger frames popular with defensive shooters and range-goers alike.
The G3C holds 10 rounds of 9mm and weighs just 22 ounces unloaded, making it light enough for all-day carry without fatigue. The 3.2-inch barrel gives you practical velocity for self-defense loads while the overall 6.3-inch length fits naturally in the hand. Sights are straightforward: fixed front, drift-adjustable rear—reliable iron backup if your optics fail, and easy to dial in at the range.
Safety features include a striker block, manual safety lever, trigger safety, and loaded chamber indicator, so you'll always know the gun's condition at a glance. The single-action trigger with restrike capability gives you a clean, consistent press that carries over from the larger G-series platform. Whether you're building your first defensive handgun or adding to a collection, the G3C delivers the core features serious shooters expect from a compact 9mm without unnecessary complexity or marketing fluff.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Taurus G3C a good choice for first-time pistol owners?
Yes. The G3C is straightforward to operate: load, chamber, shoot. The manual safety and trigger safety make it forgiving during the learning curve, and the weight and recoil are manageable for new shooters. At the range or in dry-fire practice, you'll build skills on a proven platform without expensive ammunition spending.
What kind of holster do I need for the G3C?
At 6.3 inches long and 22 ounces, the G3C fits inside-the-waistband (IWB), appendix, ankle, or pocket holsters marketed for compact 9mm pistols. Many holster makers catalog the G-series Taurus, so options are widely available. We'd recommend trying on options in-store when possible to find your carry position.
Can I adjust the sights?
The rear sight is drift adjustable, so you can zero it to your load and preference. The front sight is fixed. This setup is typical on defense-oriented carry guns and keeps things simple and durable.
