The Taurus G2S is a 9mm subcompact pistol built for shooters who need reliable firepower in a package that fits everyday carry, backup duty, or deep-concealment roles. With a 3.25-inch barrel and profile measuring just 6.25 inches overall, the G2S delivers genuine shootability without sacrificing the compact footprint that makes it accessible from a waistband, ankle rig, or bag. The matte black carbon steel slide and polymer grip keep weight down to 21.2 ounces unloaded—light enough for extended wear without printing.
What sets the G2S apart in the subcompact space is its single-action striker system with restrike capability, giving you a consistent trigger break (5–9 lbs.) and the ability to attempt a second shot if a primer fails to ignite on the first strike. The manual safety sits within easy thumb reach, and the sighting system pairs a fixed white-dot front sight with an adjustable white-dot rear, so you can dial in your zero at the range or out of the box. The gun ships with two 7-round magazines, meaning you have backup ammo capacity and a spare for training or reload drills.
The G2S runs reliably with standard 9mm ammunition and won't break the bank—both purchase and operation costs stay modest. Its size and controls make it friendly to shooters with smaller hands or those stepping into pistol carry for the first time, yet it's proven in the hands of experienced conceal-carry and backup-gun users. Whether you're looking to round out a larger-caliber rotation, need a no-nonsense carry gun that won't slow you down, or want a tested 9mm platform that does one job well, the Taurus G2S is worth a serious look.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Taurus G2S good for concealed carry?
Yes. At 6.25 inches long, 5.0 inches tall, and weighing just 21.2 ounces unloaded, the G2S is compact and light enough for inside-the-waistband, appendix, ankle, or off-body carry without printing or fatigue. The narrow 1.25-inch-wide grip further reduces its profile.
Can I upgrade the sights on the G2S?
The G2S ships with a fixed white-dot front sight and adjustable white-dot rear sight. While these are serviceable and allow rear-sight adjustment for windage and elevation, aftermarket sight options may vary; consult a gunsmith or armorer about compatibility before purchasing replacement sights.
What comes in the box with the G2S?
The Taurus G2S 9mm comes with two 7-round magazines and the pistol itself. You will need to source ammunition separately to fire or train with the gun.
Is the G2S suitable for a new shooter?
Yes. The G2S's single-action trigger, manual safety, and moderate 5–9 lb. pull make it straightforward to learn. Its lightweight frame and compact grip are also accessible to shooters with smaller hands or those new to pistol carry who want a simple, reliable platform.
