The Taurus 605 .357 Magnum revolver with 3" barrel is a compact, all-steel personal defense revolver built for serious shooters who want maximum stopping power in a concealable package. This 5-round DA/SA revolver chambers both .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P, giving you versatility at the range and flexibility for defensive loads. The matte black stainless-steel construction resists corrosion and delivers durability without the weight, while the 3-inch barrel optimizes velocity and handling in a frame that won't wear you out during extended carry or practice sessions.

What sets the 605 apart is its modern approach to the classic snub-nose fighting revolver. The removable front sight and fixed rear sight give you a solid sight picture for accurate shooting, and the smooth trigger breaks clean for rapid, controlled fire. The extended ejector rod speeds up reloads, and the compact grip profile reduces felt recoil—important when you're shooting full-power .357 Magnum rounds. At just 23.5 ounces unloaded and 7.5 inches overall, the 605 lives up to its reputation as a go-to option for concealed carry, backup defense, or a reliable range gun that performs under pressure.

If you're serious about maximizing your revolver's potential, the T.O.R.O. (Taurus Optic Ready Option) mount accepts red dot sights in the Holosun K footprint—a forward-thinking addition that opens the door to modern optics on a proven platform. This is revolver-craft that respects tradition while acknowledging how shooters actually deploy their tools today.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mount a red dot sight on the Taurus 605?

Yes. The 605 T.O.R.O. includes a factory optics mount compatible with Holosun K footprint red dots. The optic itself is not included, but the mount is integrated into the revolver and ready to accept compatible sights right out of the box.

What ammunition does the 605 shoot?

The 605 chambers both .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P, giving you the option to run full-power magnums for maximum velocity and stopping power, or milder .38 Special loads for training and practice with less recoil.

Is the 605 suitable for concealed carry?

Yes. At 23.5 ounces unloaded, 7.5 inches long, and 1.41 inches wide with a compact grip, the 605 is purpose-built for concealed carry. The small frame and snub-nose barrel make it easy to carry appendix, inside-the-waistband, or in a pocket holster.

What's the difference between the 605 and other small-frame .357 revolvers?

The 605 stands out for its T.O.R.O. optics-ready mount—a modern feature uncommon on compact revolvers. It combines all-steel construction, a smooth trigger, an extended ejector rod, and a 3-inch barrel optimized for .357 velocity, all in a truly concealable package.
