The Stevens 555 Trap 12ga 30" break-action shotgun is purpose-built for competitive clay target shooting and trap ranges. Built on a lightweight aluminum receiver with a reinforced steel breech insert, this single-barrel shotgun delivers the strength you need for sustained trap sessions without unnecessary weight. The 30-inch barrel features a raised ventilated rib and front bead sight for a crisp sight picture downrange, while the Turkish walnut stock and fore end give it the classic look and solid feel that trap shooters expect. At 7.5 lbs, it handles fast enough for quick target acquisition, yet remains stable through the shot.

Stevens engineered the 555 Trap around the fundamentals: a manual safety positioned on the tang for consistent, intuitive operation, and a chrome-lined barrel that stands up to repeated shooting. The gun accepts three interchangeable Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke tubes—Full, Modified, and Cylinder—so you can dial in the pattern you need for your particular trap discipline and distance. The manual extractor ejects each spent hull cleanly, keeping your rhythm at the line.

Shooters who value simplicity and reliability over complexity will appreciate the straightforward break-action design. There's no autoloader to maintain, no pump to cycle—just point, aim, and shoot. The adjustable comb height lets you dial in your sight picture for consistent head position, while the recoil pad and Turkish walnut stock absorb the punishment of a long day of trap. With a 14.57" pull length and ambidextrous controls, the 555 Trap fits a broad range of shooters.

If you're stepping into competitive clay shooting or looking for a no-frills dedicated trap gun that won't break the bank, the Stevens 555 Trap delivers the accuracy and durability you need to focus on your technique.

Frequently Asked Questions

What choke tubes come with the Stevens 555 Trap?

The shotgun includes three interchangeable Beretta/Benelli Mobil choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Cylinder. You can swap them to adjust your shot pattern for different trap distances and shooting conditions.

Is the Stevens 555 Trap suitable for beginners in competitive clay shooting?

Yes. The straightforward break-action design, lightweight build, and adjustable comb make it accessible to new trap shooters. The manual operation keeps you focused on fundamentals—sight picture, swing, and follow-through—rather than managing complex mechanics.

Can I add a sling or other accessories to the 555 Trap?

The shotgun includes two QD (quick-detach) studs on the stock for easy sling mounting. The barrel is not threaded, so choke adjustments are made only through the included interchangeable tubes.

What is the stock pull length, and will it fit most shooters?

The stock pull measures 14.57 inches. The adjustable comb height allows some flexibility in your mount position, but the overall pull length is fixed. If you fall outside a typical frame, a gunsmith can adjust the stock or add a spacer.
