The Citadel Coach side-by-side 12ga shotgun is a compact, classic break-action shotgun built for home defense, sport shooting, and hunting in tight spaces. With an 18-inch barrel length, this coach gun delivers the stopping power of a 12-gauge in a maneuverable package that doesn't sacrifice reliability or handling. The Turkish walnut stock gives it traditional character while the break-action design keeps maintenance straightforward and field-stripping simple.
Built for shooters who value simplicity and ruggedness, the Coach features a single, crisp trigger and barrel selector so you can choose which barrel fires first—a practical advantage when you're carrying two different loads or need instant load selection. The checkered forend and grip ensure positive handling in wet or gloved conditions, and the extractors expedite unloading spent shells. This is a shotgun that works without fuss, whether you're running drills at the range, handling yard varmints, or keeping one bedside.
Citadel's Coach is purpose-built simplicity: no gas tubes, no complex springs, no electronics. Just two barrels, a trigger, and a hammer. The compact 18-inch profile makes it quick in tight quarters—a quality that's made coach guns popular with both working professionals and sport shooters for decades. If you're after a no-nonsense break-action 12ga that won't break the bank, the Coach delivers honest performance at an approachable price.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an 18-inch barrel best used for?
An 18-inch barrel keeps overall length compact and maneuverable, making it ideal for home defense, vehicle storage, and close-range hunting. The shorter profile doesn't significantly impact shot pattern quality at typical defensive distances.
What does the barrel selector do?
The barrel selector lets you choose which barrel fires first with your single trigger pull—useful if you're loading different shot types (buckshot in one barrel, slugs in the other, for example) or if you simply want control over which barrel you use first.
Is this shotgun simple to clean and maintain?
Yes. The break-action design has no gas tubes, piston systems, or complex internal springs. You can open the action and access the barrels and breech for cleaning in minutes without specialized tools.
What is a coach gun?
A coach gun is a compact, side-by-side shotgun traditionally used for close-range self-defense and sport shooting. The short barrel and lightweight design make it quick to shoulder and easy to manage, which is why the style has remained popular for over a century.
