The Standard MFG SP12 is a truly ambidextrous 12-gauge pump action shotgun built for shooters who refuse to compromise on control access or flexibility. Unlike traditional shotguns that favor one hand, the SP12 gives you equal reach to all controls from either shoulder—a game-changer for left-handed shooters, home defenders who practice both stances, or anyone tired of working around a gun designed for the right side only. The 18.5" barrel keeps things compact and maneuverable indoors or in tight quarters, while the receiver design feeds and ejects shells from the bottom, maintaining a clean profile and unobstructed sight plane.

Built from aircraft-grade 7075 aluminum machined from a solid billet, the SP12 receiver is both lightweight and built to last. The threaded barrel accepts choke tubes and other common shotgun accessories, giving you room to tune performance for whatever ammunition or hunting situation you face. Shell versatility is a major selling point: the SP12 runs 1¾", 2¾", and 3" 12-gauge shells interchangeably, so you're never locked into one load. That flexibility means you can load lighter rounds for practice or reduced recoil, step up to standard buckshot for defense, or go full magnum when hunting demands it.

The full-length M-LOK mounting system runs the length of the receiver, opening up solid options for optics, lights, or modern tactical accessories. Standard controls follow AR-pattern ergonomics, so if you're already familiar with modern rifles, the safety and charging handle will feel right at home. This is the standard model, which features an AR-type adjustable stock—purpose-built for home defense, tactical training, and sport shooting scenarios where you want a solid sight picture and repeatable cheek weld.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a left-handed shooter use the SP12 as comfortably as a right-hander?

Yes. The SP12 is designed with true ambidextrous controls, so all manipulation points are equally accessible from either side. This makes it genuinely suitable for left-handed operation without modification or awkward reaches.

What shotgun shells does the SP12 accept?

The SP12 accepts 1¾", 2¾", and 3" 12-gauge shotgun shells. You can load any combination of these lengths and switch between them without altering the gun or any components.

Can I mount optics or accessories on the SP12?

Yes. The SP12 features a full-length M-LOK mounting system that runs along the receiver, and the threaded barrel is designed to accept choke tubes and other accessories. This gives you plenty of mounting real estate for lights, red dots, or tactical gear.
