The SCCY Industries CPX-4 is a compact .380 ACP pistol built for shooters who want a reliable, no-frills everyday carry gun or range backup without breaking the bank. At just 15 ounces with a 5.70-inch overall length, this double-action-only (DAO) pistol slides into a waistband or pack without printing, while the 2.96-inch stainless steel barrel and 10+1 round capacity deliver practical performance for personal protection or training. The purple polymer frame paired with stainless slide isn't just a color choice—it's a nod to SCCY's commitment to making defensive firearms that feel personal to the shooter.

What sets the CPX-4 apart is its Roebuck Quadlock recoil system, engineered to manage the snappy nature of .380 ACP and help you get back on target faster. The external safety and DAO trigger (breaking at 9 pounds) keep the gun simple and consistent—there's no manual thumb safety to fumble under stress, just a straightforward, deliberate shot process. The G-43-style sights are practical for defensive distances, and SCCY offers a red-dot ready version if you want to modernize your sight picture.

The CPX-4 is built on the philosophy that a carry gun doesn't need to be fancy—it needs to work, stay put, and fire every time you press the trigger. The stainless slide resists corrosion, the 1.10-inch width keeps it slender in the holster, and the polymer frame absorbs recoil without unnecessary weight. Whether you're looking for a first compact handgun, a truck gun, or a second shooter for the range, the CPX-4 delivers honest, accessible performance.

Yes. At 5.70 inches long, 1.10 inches wide, and 15 ounces, the CPX-4 is built for everyday carry in appendix holsters, inside-the-waistband rigs, and off-body carry. The compact footprint and light weight make it easy to carry all day without fatigue or printing.

What's the difference between the CPX-4 and other .380 pocket pistols?

The CPX-4 features SCCY's proprietary Roebuck Quadlock recoil system, which is engineered to manage .380 ACP recoil and promote reliable cycling. The DAO trigger, external safety, and stainless/polymer construction keep the gun simple, affordable, and durable.

Can I mount a red dot sight on this pistol?

SCCY offers the CPX-4 in a red-dot ready variant. The version described here features G-43-style iron sights; check availability of the optics-ready model if you want to run a modern red dot.

What ammunition does the CPX-4 use?

The CPX-4 is chambered in .380 ACP (also called .380 Auto), a common defensive and target round available at most ammunition retailers.
