The Savage Mark II BTVSS is a .22 LR rifle built for shooters who want serious accuracy in a rimfire platform. If you're training new shooters, tuning your marksmanship at the range, or just enjoying honest trigger time without breaking the bank, this rifle delivers the kind of precision and control you'd expect from a name like Savage—without the fuss or the price tag of a centerfire. The stainless steel barrel and receiver mean this gun will handle field conditions without rust concerns, and the wood laminate thumbhole stock is both functional and built to last.

At the heart of the Mark II BTVSS is Savage's AccuTrigger technology, which lets you dial in exactly the trigger pull weight you want. That level of customization is rare on a .22, and it makes a real difference whether you're testing loads, teaching a beginner, or competing in rimfire matches. The 21-inch button-rifled heavy barrel is the foundation of the rifle's reputation for accuracy—it's the kind of detail that separates a shooter's gun from a casual plinker.

The thumbhole stock keeps your hand in a consistent, repeatable position shot after shot, and the laminated wood construction handles recoil (or lack thereof) while resisting warping from temperature and humidity swings. Five-round detachable magazine system keeps loading and unloading simple. Bolt action, right-hand configuration, and a 13.9-inch length of pull make this a natural fit for adult shooters and taller teenagers who've outgrown youth rifles.

Whether you're running a .22 training program, building a dedicated accuracy rifle, or just want a rimfire that doesn't feel like a toy, the Mark II BTVSS earns its place on the range or in a truck.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Savage Mark II BTVSS good for teaching new shooters?

Yes. The .22 LR cartridge is low-recoil and affordable, the adjustable trigger helps build good fundamentals, and the thumbhole stock promotes consistent hand placement—all advantages when you're working with someone learning to shoot.

Can I adjust the trigger pull weight?

Yes. The AccuTrigger system is user-adjustable, allowing you to customize the trigger pull to your preference.

What's included with the rifle?

The rifle comes with a 5-round detachable magazine and the wood laminate thumbhole stock. Scope, mounting hardware, and ammunition are not included.

Will the stainless barrel and receiver rust?

Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and handles exposure to moisture better than blued or parkerized finishes, making it a good choice if you're shooting in wet conditions or storing the rifle in a humid environment.
