The Savage Arms B.MAG 17 WSM rimfire rifle delivers flat-shooting, varmint-dropping performance in a lightweight sporter package. Built on Savage's proven B-series platform, this right-handed rifle chambers the speedy 17 Winchester Super Magnum—a rimfire cartridge that trades the subsonic thump of .22 LR for genuine velocity and range, making it an excellent choice for prairie dogs, ground squirrels, and other small game where wind drift and bullet drop matter. At 40.5 inches overall with a 22-inch barrel, it's handy enough for one-handed carry through brush country yet long enough to wring full velocity from the 17 WSM's hot loads.
This is a straightforward hunting and pest-control tool, not a tactical platform dressed up in compromise. The wood laminate stock in grey provides durability and a classic hunting aesthetic, while the matte black carbon steel barrel won't catch the sun or show dust. The 8-round detachable rotary magazine keeps ammo changes fast, and Savage's celebrated AccuTrigger provides the precision and clean break you'd expect from a gun wearing the Savage name—important when your quarry is small and quick.
The 17 WSM has carved a loyal following among serious varmint hunters and rimfire enthusiasts who want ballistics beyond what standard .22s deliver. If you're tired of leading 'em with a traditional .22 or waiting for perfect still conditions, the B.MAG puts you in business at legitimate hunting distances. Pair it with a quality rimfire scope, and you've got a rig that'll handle open country shooting with confidence.
