The Savage Arms 93R17 BTVLSS LH is a left-handed 17 HMR rimfire rifle built for shooters who want serious accuracy in a lightweight, handy package. This bolt-action rimfire delivers the flat trajectory and minimal recoil that make 17 HMR ideal for varmint work, small-game hunting, and precision shooting at distance—all from a platform that's easy to carry and quick to aim. The left-hand action makes this a rare find for southpaw shooters who typically hunt secondhand racks or wait months for custom builds.

The stainless steel barrel and receiver protect against weather and corrosion, a smart move if you're taking this rifle into brush, across ranch country, or where moisture is a concern. At 21 inches long and 7 pounds overall, it's nimble enough for a day in the field without wearing you out. The wood laminate thumbhole stock gives you a solid grip and decent ergonomics, while the 1:9 twist rate is optimized to stabilize 17 HMR projectiles. Five-round capacity keeps things simple and legal in most hunting scenarios.

This is a straightforward rimfire—no frills, no unnecessary weight, just a proven Savage action and quality barrel designed to shoot. Whether you're zeroing in coyotes, working varmints at 100+ yards, or punching paper at the range, the 93R17 BTVLSS LH delivers the kind of inherent accuracy rimfire shooters expect from Savage, with the left-hand ergonomics you've been looking for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 93R17 BTVLSS LH actually left-handed, or is that just the label?

Yes—this is a genuine left-hand rifle. The bolt handle, safety, and magazine release are all positioned for left-handed operation. If you're a southpaw, you get a rifle designed around your natural shooting position, not a right-hand rifle forced into service.

What is 17 HMR good for?

17 HMR is a versatile rimfire cartridge known for flat trajectory, minimal recoil, and excellent accuracy at distance. It's widely used for varmint hunting (coyotes, prairie dogs, groundhogs), small-game hunting, and target shooting. It's faster and flatter than 22 LR but less powerful than centerfire rifle cartridges.

What does stainless steel on a rimfire rifle actually do for me?

Stainless steel resists corrosion and weathering, which extends the life of your rifle and keeps it looking good if you're using it in wet, humid, or salty conditions. For a field gun that might see brush, rain, or extended storage, it's a practical upgrade.

Does this rifle come with sights or a scope mount?

The product facts don't specify what sighting equipment is included. Contact us directly to confirm what optics-mounting options are available with your rifle.
