The Savage 110 Haymaker is a compact, hard-hitting bolt-action rifle chambered in .450 Bushmaster—a cartridge designed for hunters who want rifle power in a shorter, more maneuverable package. The 18-inch barrel keeps overall length down to 37.5 to 38.5 inches, making the Haymaker a natural choice for hunting in thick cover, hunting from a stand, or moving through brush where a standard-length rifle becomes a liability. At 7.9 pounds, it's light enough to carry all day without fatigue, yet built on Savage's proven 110 action, one of the most reliable bolt-gun platforms in the industry.

What sets the Haymaker apart is its attention to ergonomics and modern shootability. The AccuFit system lets you adjust cast and comb for a custom cheek weld, while the soft-grip fore-end and pistol grip provide confident handling in any weather. A muzzle brake tames recoil from the potent .450 Bushmaster cartridge, and a one-piece rail gives you flexibility to mount optics or accessories without wrestling with the gun. The synthetic stock is tough, lightweight, and weather-resistant—no babying required when you're hunting in rain, mud, or dust.

The Haymaker feeds from a detachable Magpul AICS-pattern magazine loaded with 4 rounds plus 1 in the chamber, so you have five shots ready without fumbling with clips or internal magazine access. The AccuTrigger—Savage's time-tested single-stage mechanism—breaks clean and consistent, helping you make accurate follow-up shots when they matter. A right-handed configuration serves the majority of shooters, and the 24-inch rate of twist is optimized for .450 Bushmaster ballistics.

Whether you're a deer hunter looking to move fast through timber, a lever-action enthusiast wanting a bolt-gun alternative, or someone seeking modern features without excessive weight or length, the Savage 110 Haymaker delivers the goods. It's built to hunt, plain and simple.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the .450 Bushmaster cartridge, and what game is it suited for?

The .450 Bushmaster is a straight-wall, large-bore rifle cartridge designed primarily for hunting medium to large game in dense cover. Its short, fat profile and heavy bullet make it effective for deer and larger game at moderate ranges, and it was developed to work well in short-barreled rifles like the Haymaker. Because it's a straight-wall cartridge, it may also be legal in some jurisdictions for hunting during straight-wall or special rifle seasons—check your local regulations before hunting.

Is the Savage 110 Haymaker suitable for a left-handed shooter?

This rifle is configured for right-handed shooters. A left-handed variant may be available; contact us to inquire about left-hand options in the 110 Haymaker lineup.

What magazines does the Haymaker accept, and are extras available?

The rifle ships with a detachable Magpul AICS-pattern box magazine. We carry additional Magpul AICS magazines; compatibility is confirmed with the AICS standard, though we recommend consulting the manufacturer or Bosque staff to confirm fit and function with any aftermarket magazines you plan to use.

Does the rifle come with optics or a rail-mounted accessory?

The Haymaker includes a one-piece rail for mounting optics and accessories, but no scope, mounts, or accessories are included with the rifle. You'll need to add your own optics and gear to suit your hunting or range needs.

How does the AccuFit system work, and why does it matter?

The AccuFit system allows you to adjust the cast (bend) and comb height of the stock to fit your individual face shape and shooting position. This customization helps you achieve a consistent and comfortable cheek weld, which translates to better sight picture alignment and more accurate shooting. It's a small but meaningful refinement that helps you shoot the gun more naturally.
