The Rock Island Armory VR80 12 GA semi-auto shotgun brings AR-15 ergonomics and controls to the shotgun world—a gas-operated platform built around 7075 T6 aluminum upper and lower receivers that rewards shooters already familiar with modern tactical rifles. Whether you're running three-gun competition, working clay targets, or stocking a home-defense battery, the VR80's intuitive controls mean you're not relearning muscle memory between platforms. This California-compliant model feeds from detachable magazines and delivers the reliability and handling you'd expect from a modern semi-auto shotgun at a competitive price point.

The VR80 chambers both 2¾ and 3-inch shells in its proven gas system, with a magazine-fed capacity of 5+1 rounds. The contoured 20-inch barrel is topped with mobile choke tubes, letting you dial in patterns for everything from buckshot to bird loads without swapping barrels. At 8.27 pounds empty and 40 inches overall, it balances speed and control—lightweight enough for extended shooting sessions, compact enough to handle in tight spaces or from a vehicle. The tactical black anodized finish is durable and low-profile.

If you've invested time mastering AR ergonomics, or you simply want a semi-auto shotgun that borrows proven design language from the rifle world, the VR80 eliminates the learning curve. Magazine changes, safety placement, and trigger control all follow patterns your hands already know. That familiarity translates to faster shooting and more focus on the target—whether that's a clay bird, a match stage, or a defensive scenario.
