The Remington Model 870 Express Synthetic Tactical 12 gauge pump shotgun is a no-frills workhorse built for hunters, sport shooters, and home defenders who value reliability over bells and whistles. With an 18½-inch fixed cylinder choke barrel and single front bead sight, it's a compact, handy gun that points naturally and cycles smoothly in tight quarters—whether you're navigating a boat blind, clearing brush, or running drills at the range. The synthetic furniture and matte finish shrug off weather and abuse, making this 12 gauge an affordable foundation gun that will outlast trends and fads.

At its core, the Model 870 is built on a time-tested platform: a steel receiver milled from solid billet stock, paired with twin action bars that keep the pump action smooth and binding-free, shot after shot. That proven mechanics matter. Remington has spent over five decades perfecting the 870 family, and it shows in the gun's legendary reputation among law enforcement, military units, and civilian shooters alike. Whether you're hauling it into the field or keeping it within arm's reach, the 870 Express Synthetic Tactical handles both 2¾-inch and 3-inch shells, giving you flexibility in ammunition choice and performance.

The tactical configuration—short barrel, light frame, and clean ergonomics—makes it an honest choice for home security or patrol work without gimmicks or unnecessary weight. Capacity options (5-shot or 7-shot) let you match the gun to your mission. This isn't a pretty gun, and it isn't trying to be. It's a pump shotgun that does one job exceptionally well: function. Build it out, leave it stock, or use it as the core of your next project. The Model 870 will be there either way.
