The Remington 870 Hardwood Home Defense 12 GA pump shotgun is one of the most trusted platforms for defensive shotguns, and this Hardwood variant brings classic aesthetics to proven reliability. The Model 25559 pairs the legendary 870 action with traditional dark stain hardwood furniture, offering a shotgun that works hard and looks right doing it. The 18.5-inch barrel with fixed cylinder choke is purpose-built for the standard defensive loads most shooters train with, delivering consistent patterns where it counts.
This is a no-nonsense home defense tool. The hardwood stock and foregrip feel substantial in your hands, while the 7.5-pound weight strikes a balance between pointability and recoil management. The single bead sight keeps your focus simple and fast in dynamic situations. Overall length of 38.5 inches keeps the gun maneuverable indoors without sacrificing sight radius, and the 14-inch length of pull fits a wide range of shooters without the need for adapters.
One of the 870's greatest strengths is its barrel interchangeability—you can swap barrels without any gunsmithing if your needs change down the road. The matte blue receiver finish is durable and low-gloss, designed to function rather than impress. Whether you're building your first home defense battery or adding to an existing Remington platform, the 870 Hardwood Home Defense gives you a shotgun built on decades of real-world performance.
