The Remington 700 CDL in 7mm Remington Magnum is a bolt-action rifle built for hunters who demand accuracy and reliability on long-range pursuits. The 26-inch barrel and magnum caliber combination delivers the velocity and energy needed for elk, moose, and other large game at extended distances. The CDL (Classic Deluxe) line pairs traditional American walnut furniture with proven Model 700 mechanics—a platform trusted by hunters and precision shooters for decades.

This rifle balances classic lines with functional design. The satin blue barrel and walnut stock give it a timeless look that works equally well in a truck rack or displayed in a safe. The 7mm Rem Mag is a genuine magnum cartridge, not a belted marketing claim—it offers real knockdown power and excellent ballistics for shots that demand it. A three-round magazine capacity keeps the action trim while supporting practical hunting workflows.

The CDL stocks geometry is built around a 13½-inch length of pull with measured drop measurements (1⅛" at comb, 1⅜" at heel) that support consistent cheek weld and sight picture, whether you're running irons or mounting an optic. The 9¼-inch twist rate in the 26-inch barrel is optimized for the magnum's standard bullet weights. If you're a hunter accustomed to Model 700 handling, controls, and customization options—or you're ready to invest in a serious long-range hunting rifle—this CDL delivers both heritage and performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the effective range for hunting with the 7mm Remington Magnum?

The 7mm Rem Mag is a serious long-range round. With proper ammunition and optics, hunters consistently take game ethically at 300+ yards. Effective range depends on your skill, optic quality, and cartridge choice—but the magnum's velocity and energy retention make it a legitimate option for extended shots on large game.

Can I mount a modern scope on this rifle?

Yes. The Model 700 has a standard Picatinny rail drilled and tapped from the factory, ready for any modern scope mount. Remington 700s also accept virtually any third-party rail if you prefer a different setup.

Is the 26-inch barrel too long for hunting?

At 46½ inches overall, the rifle is moderately long but not unwieldy. The extra barrel length helps the magnum reach full velocity potential. If you hunt in thick timber or from a vehicle, you may prefer a shorter option—but for open-country and mountain hunting, this length is standard for magnum rifles.

What ammunition does the 7mm Rem Mag use?

7mm Remington Magnum ammunition is widely available from major manufacturers. The 9¼-inch twist rate supports standard magnum bullet weights. Always verify your specific load through your barrel before hunting.
