The Remington 700 in 7mm-08 Remington is a bolt-action rifle built for hunters who want a capable, proven platform in a versatile mid-range caliber. The 7mm-08 delivers solid downrange energy and manageable recoil, making it a smart choice for deer, elk, and medium-game hunting across varied terrain. This Model R27357 pairs the legendary 700 action with a 24-inch barrel, clean matte blue finish, and a matte black synthetic stock—a no-nonsense combination that prioritizes reliability and weather resistance over flash.

The synthetic stock and blue steel keep maintenance straightforward in the field. With a 4-round capacity, 1:9.25 barrel twist, and overall length of 43.675 inches, this rifle is built for shooters who value balance between portability and sight radius. The 7.375-pound weight sits in the sweet spot for all-day hunting—light enough to pack but substantial enough to manage recoil and deliver consistent accuracy. Dimensions like the 12.375-inch length of pull and drop measurements (1.125" at comb, 1.375" at heel) are engineered for a natural shooting position, though individual fit varies with your build and gear.

Whether you're glassing high country, hunting thick timber, or working from a blind, the 700 platform has earned its reputation for sub-MOA accuracy potential and dependable feeding. This is a rifle that rewards good shooting and pairs well with quality glass and ammunition. If you want a straightforward, purpose-built hunting rifle without gimmicks, the Remington 700 in 7mm-08 delivers exactly what's advertised.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Remington 700 in 7mm-08 suitable for hunting elk?

The 7mm-08 Remington is classified as a medium-game cartridge and is effective on deer and similar-sized game. For elk, especially at distance, most experienced hunters step up to larger magnums like the 7mm Magnum or .300 Win Mag. Consult regional hunting regulations and ballistic data before choosing any rifle for a specific game species.

What is the barrel twist rate, and what ammunition does it stabilize?

This rifle features a 1:9.25 barrel twist. This twist rate is compatible with standard 7mm-08 Remington loads. For specific bullet weights and designs, consult ballistic tables or contact the manufacturer to confirm stability.

Does this rifle come with a scope or mounting bases?

Based on the product information provided, the rifle is sold as a bare receiver with barrel and stock. You will need to source your own scope, rings, and bases. The 700 platform is widely compatible with standard Remington scope mounting systems.

What is the length of pull, and will it fit me?

The length of pull is 12.375 inches, which is a standard adult dimension. Individual fit depends on your arm length and shooting position. If you fall outside typical adult proportions or prefer a custom fit, aftermarket stocks are widely available for the 700 platform.
