The Remington 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 22" barrel is a purpose-built bolt-action rifle engineered for long-range accuracy and hunting performance. This Model R84204 combines the proven 700 platform—a legend in both competition and field applications—with the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge, a modern round that balances recoil, velocity, and downrange energy in a package that works for both target shooters and hunters. The 22" barrel strikes a practical balance between velocity and handling, making it equally at home at the range or in the field where speed between shots matters.

Built with Remington's classic bolt-action reliability, the 700 platform has earned its reputation through decades of accuracy and durability. The 6.5 Creedmoor has become the go-to choice for shooters who want flat trajectory, consistent wind-bucking performance, and manageable recoil—especially valuable for extended range sessions or hunting applications where follow-up shots need to be quick and accurate. The black finish gives the rifle a clean, no-nonsense appearance that works in any hunting or tactical setting.

Whether you're setting up a long-range hunting rig, developing loads at the bench, or adding a 6.5 Creedmoor to your safe, the Remington 700 is a versatile foundation that accepts a vast aftermarket ecosystem of stocks, triggers, and optics mounts. This is a rifle built to shoot—and to shoot far.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Remington 700 6.5 Creedmoor rifle best used for?

The 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor excels at long-range hunting, precision rifle competitions, and target shooting. The round delivers flat trajectory and good wind-bucking performance, making it a solid choice for hunters pursuing medium to larger game and shooters working at extended distances.

How does the 22" barrel affect performance?

A 22" barrel on the 6.5 Creedmoor offers a practical balance between velocity and rifle length. It's short enough to handle in thick cover or from a vehicle, yet long enough to fully develop the cartridge's speed and energy for effective long-range shooting.

Can the Remington 700 be customized or upgraded?

Yes. The Remington 700 platform has extensive aftermarket support. You can upgrade the stock, trigger, barrel, optics mounts, and more. This modularity makes it an excellent platform for building a custom long-range rifle to your exact specifications.

What does the black finish mean for field use?

The black finish is durable and non-reflective, reducing glint in sunlight and providing a low-visibility appearance suited to hunting and tactical use. It resists corrosion in field conditions when properly maintained.
