The Remington 700 6.5 Creedmoor bolt-action rifle is built on a platform that's defined American hunting and precision shooting for decades. This Model R84151 pairs the legendary 700 receiver design with a 20-inch barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor—a cartridge that's become the go-to for hunters who want flat trajectory, minimal wind drift, and serious downrange energy without magnum recoil. Whether you're dialing in at the range or glassing for game at medium to extended distance, this rifle delivers the accuracy and handling that made the 700 a staple in gun cabinets across the country.

Remington engineered the 700 SPS platform to strip away unnecessary complexity while keeping what matters: the rock-solid three-ring receiver design, drilled and tapped for scope mounts straight from the box. The synthetic stock is ergonomically refined for a solid hold and consistent shooter position, while the carbon steel barrel and receiver wear a matte black finish that sheds glint and won't snag on brush or gear. You're looking at real accuracy without the premium price tag that usually comes with it.

The 20-inch barrel strikes a practical balance—short enough for reasonable handling in timber or vehicles, long enough to let the 6.5 Creedmoor develop its velocity and signature ballistics. This is a no-frills, no-hype rifle: good mechanics, proven ergonomics, and a chambering that's earned its reputation in the field and on the bench.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle ready for a scope mount right out of the box?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped for standard scope mounts, so you can mount rings and a scope without any gunsmithing or additional drilling.

What's the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge good for?

The 6.5 Creedmoor is a modern, efficient cartridge designed for flat trajectory and wind deflection resistance. It's popular for hunting medium to large game at moderate and extended distances, and it's also a favorite on the precision rifle range. It delivers solid performance with less recoil than larger magnum cartridges.

Is the synthetic stock weather-resistant?

Synthetic stocks are inherently more resistant to moisture and weather than wood. They won't swell, shrink, or warp in wet conditions, making them reliable in variable hunting and field conditions.

What's the difference between the 700 SPS and other Remington 700 models?

The SPS (Special Purpose Synthetic) focuses on core 700 accuracy and reliability with a synthetic stock and simplified feature set, offering a strong value proposition. It retains the three-ring receiver, drilled and tapped design, and proven bolt-action mechanism that define the 700 platform across all its variants.
