The Remington 1100 Sporting is a lightweight, gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun built for shooters who value speed and handling in the field or at the range. This 410-gauge model pairs the proven reliability of the 1100 platform with the nimble ballistics and reduced recoil of the smallest common shotgun gauge, making it an excellent choice for upland hunters, competitive clay shooters, and anyone looking to build their shotgunning skills with a forgiving, fast-cycling platform.

Built on a proven semi-automatic action that cycles cleanly on a wide range of 410 loads, the 1100 Sporting handles 2.75-inch shells with a four-round capacity. The 27-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between sight radius and maneuverability, while the high-gloss American walnut furniture gives the gun a clean, traditional appearance without sacrificing durability. At 6.25 pounds, it's light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to absorb recoil and maintain swing through the shot.

The twin bead sight setup keeps your focus on the target and helps maintain a consistent sight picture as you move between presentations. Whether you're working quail and grouse in tight cover, practicing at a clay range, or introducing a new shooter to shotgun fundamentals, the 1100 Sporting's gas-operated reliability and smooth action make it a trusted platform that simply runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ammunition does the Remington 1100 Sporting 410 use?

This shotgun is chambered for 2.75-inch 410-gauge shells, the standard 410 cartridge. Your ammunition should be labeled 410-bore or 410-gauge with a 2.75-inch chamber length.

Is the 1100 Sporting good for upland hunting?

Yes. The 410-gauge is popular for upland game like quail and grouse, especially in open country or when a lighter gun is preferred. The semi-automatic action, lightweight build, and 27-inch barrel make it nimble in the field.

How many shells can it hold?

The magazine tube holds four rounds. With one round in the chamber, you can have five shells ready to go, though many hunters and shooters load fewer for comfort and safety.

What's the overall length and weight?

The 1100 Sporting measures 47.75 inches overall and weighs 6.25 pounds, making it light and maneuverable for extended shooting sessions or all-day hunting.
