The RDI RAK47-P is a 7.62x39 polymer Krinkov-pattern pistol built on the proven AK platform. If you're looking for a compact, maneuverable 7.62x39 pistol with classic AK ergonomics and the ability to configure for different carry and use scenarios, the RAK47-P delivers rugged functionality in a shorter package. The polymer construction keeps weight down without sacrificing durability, and the side-folding stock lets you collapse the profile when space is tight—whether you're working in close quarters or want a more compact footprint for storage and transport.
This is a purpose-built platform for shooters who want the reliability of an AK-pattern firearm in pistol format. The 7.62x39 cartridge offers proven stopping power and affordable ammunition options compared to many modern pistol calibers, and the Krinkov configuration has decades of real-world use behind it. Whether you're a builder who plans to SBR it down the line, a home-defense shooter who values AK-platform familiarity, or someone who simply wants a compact, controllable 7.62x39 option, the RAK47-P is built to work.
Riley Defense has earned a solid reputation for bringing quality AK-pattern rifles and pistols to the US market at reasonable price points. The RAK47-P combines that heritage with a design optimized for shorter sight radius and lighter recoil characteristics compared to full-length AK rifles, making it approachable for shooters of different experience levels.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the RAK47-P pistol and a full-size AK rifle?
The RAK47-P is configured in pistol format with a shorter sight radius and compact profile, making it ideal for close-quarters use and transport. It uses the same 7.62x39 chambering and AK-pattern reliability, but in a more maneuverable package.
Can I add a brace or convert this to an SBR?
We can't advise on accessory compatibility or legal modifications—check current federal and state firearms laws and consult a licensed gunsmith before making any changes.
What ammunition does the RAK47-P use?
It's chambered in 7.62x39, the standard Soviet-pattern rifle cartridge used in AK-pattern firearms worldwide. Ammo is widely available and generally affordable compared to many modern pistol calibers.
