The Mossberg SA-20 Tactical is a semi-automatic 20-gauge shotgun built for shooters who want manageable recoil without sacrificing capability. This 20-inch tactical shotgun delivers fast follow-up shots in a compact platform that handles well indoors, at the range, or in the field. With a 5-round magazine capacity and 3-inch chamber, it pairs practical firepower with the milder recoil profile that makes 20-gauge attractive for lighter-framed shooters, training, or extended shooting sessions.

The SA-20 Tactical comes configured for serious use: a ghost ring rear sight paired with a fiber optic front sight gives you a fast, reliable sight picture in variable light. The 20-inch barrel—short enough for quick handling in tight spaces—wears a matte blued finish that resists corrosion without gloss. The synthetic black pistol-grip stock is durable and low-maintenance, designed to shed moisture and stand up to hard use. At 5.75 pounds and 39.5 inches overall, this shotgun stays light and nimble without feeling fragile.

Whether you're setting up a home-defense shotgun, building a truck gun, or exploring semi-auto shotguns for the first time, the SA-20 Tactical offers Mossberg's proven reliability in a format that doesn't beat you up. The cylinder-bore choke is wide-open, keeping your patterns forgiving at close range. This is a straightforward, no-nonsense working shotgun.

Frequently Asked Questions

What shells does the Mossberg SA-20 Tactical shoot?

The 3-inch chamber accepts both 2.75-inch and 3-inch 20-gauge shells, giving you flexibility in ammunition choice and recoil management.

Is this shotgun good for home defense or tactical use?

Yes. The 20-inch barrel and pistol-grip stock make it maneuverable in tight spaces, the ghost ring and fiber optic sights allow fast target acquisition, and the 5-round capacity provides adequate firepower. The synthetic stock is also ideal for environments where moisture or rough handling is a concern.

How much does the SA-20 Tactical weigh?

At 5.75 pounds, it's lightweight enough for extended shooting or carry without fatigue, and the compact 39.5-inch length complements the low weight for balance and control.

What does cylinder bore choke mean?

Cylinder bore is the most open choke option, producing a wide, even shot pattern at close range—ideal for defense or tactical scenarios where you want minimal shot spread control.
