The Magnum Research Desert Eagle .44 Magnum pistol is a gas-operated rotating bolt semiautomatic built for shooters who want serious stopping power and iconic presence on the range. The 6-inch barrel delivers the .44 Magnum's full velocity and energy, while the polished chrome silver finish catches light and turns heads. This isn't a carry gun or a practical defensive pistol—it's a statement piece and a hard-hitting target/sport shooter that rewards precision and respect.

The Desert Eagle's engineering is straightforward and robust: a carbon steel barrel and frame paired with a matching slide, anchored by a full Weaver-style accessory rail for lights, lasers, or scopes if you want to experiment. The gas-operated system handles the .44 Magnum's recoil and pressure consistently, while the polygonal rifling (right-hand twist, six lands and grooves) stabilizes heavy bullets downrange. Combat-type fixed sights are there if you need them, but most owners either upgrade to optics or learn the gun's handling characteristics through range time.

At 4 pounds 6.6 ounces unloaded and 10.75 inches overall, the Desert Eagle is heavy and substantial—designed to soak recoil and sit solidly in your hands. The single-action trigger breaks at approximately 4 pounds, and the 8.5-inch sight radius gives you plenty of reference for precise shot placement. The 8-round magazine keeps you fed through a range session without constant reloading, though follow-up shots demand respect and technique with this much power.

This is a gun for dedicated handgun hunters, experimental long-range pistol shooters, and collectors who appreciate the Desert Eagle's legend. It's not forgiving of careless handling, and ammunition is neither cheap nor always readily available—but if you're drawn to the .44 Magnum's raw potential, the Magnum Research Desert Eagle remains the definitive platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in the box?

The product record confirms the pistol and magazine(s); we've not been provided details on additional accessories or documentation included. Contact us directly for a complete list of what ships with your Desert Eagle.

Can I mount a scope or red dot on the Desert Eagle?

Yes. The Desert Eagle features a full Weaver-style accessory rail, so you can attach optics, lasers, or lights. Many owners use this rail to upgrade from the factory fixed sights to modern optics for hunting or long-range precision work.

Is the .44 Magnum hard to shoot, and how much does it recoil?

The .44 Magnum generates significant recoil and muzzle energy—this is not a beginner's cartridge. At 4 pounds 6.6 ounces, the Desert Eagle's weight helps absorb impulse, and the gas-operated system smooths the cycle. However, expect powerful feedback and practice required for fast, accurate follow-up shots. This is a gun for disciplined, deliberate shooting.

What is the trigger pull weight and can it be adjusted?

The factory single-action trigger breaks at approximately 4 pounds. We don't have data on aftermarket trigger modifications in the product record; contact us or a gunsmith for custom tuning options.
