The Kriss Vector Gen II SDP is a 9mm closed-bolt delayed-blowback pistol engineered for shooters who demand soft recoil and fast follow-up shots. Built on Kriss USA's proven Vector platform, the Gen II SDP delivers a unique operating system that redirects felt recoil downward instead of into your hands—a genuine advantage whether you're running drills at the range, competing in action shooting sports, or building a home-defense battery. At 5.9 pounds and just under 17 inches overall, it's compact enough for practical use but substantial enough to manage consistently.

The closed-bolt design and delayed-blowback operation work together to minimize muzzle rise and allow faster target reacquisition. With a 5.5-inch barrel and 1/2x28 threading, the SDP accepts standard suppressors and muzzle devices, opening up quiet-shooting and tuning options. The 17+1 magazine capacity strikes a balance between capacity and ergonomics—enough ammunition for most shooting scenarios without excessive bulk. If you're accustomed to traditional pistols and expect conventional ergonomics and controls, the Vector's unconventional layout will require hands-on familiarity, but once learned, it becomes second nature.

This is not a typical duty or carry pistol; it's built for the shooter who values recoil management and accuracy above all else. Whether you're a precision-focused competitive shooter, a suppressor enthusiast, or someone exploring alternatives to conventional 9mm platforms, the Kriss Vector Gen II SDP offers a genuinely different shooting experience backed by proven reliability and American manufacturing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a suppressor fit the Kriss Vector Gen II SDP?

Yes. The barrel is threaded 1/2x28 RH (right-hand), which accepts any standard suppressor designed for 9mm and 1/2x28 mounting. This makes it an excellent choice if you run suppressors and want to minimize felt recoil further.

What's the magazine capacity?

The SDP ships with a 17+1 round magazine in 9mm—17 in the magazine plus one in the chamber. This gives you a practical round count that doesn't sacrifice ergonomics or comfort for extended shooting sessions.

How does the delayed-blowback system differ from a traditional blowback pistol?

The Kriss delayed-blowback design manages the timing of gas pressure and bolt movement to reduce recoil impulse and redirect it downward rather than straight back into the shooter. This results in less muzzle climb and faster follow-up shots compared to standard straight-blowback 9mm designs.

Is the Vector Gen II SDP suitable for concealed carry?

At 16.75 inches overall length and 5.9 pounds, the SDP is too large and heavy for typical concealed carry. It's designed as a range, competition, or home-defense platform where size and weight are less of a constraint and recoil management is a priority.
