The Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett Youth .22LR bolt-action rifle is purpose-built for young shooters just getting serious about marksmanship. At 3 pounds with an 11.5-inch length of pull, this single-shot rimfire fits smaller frames without sacrificing the fundamentals of good shooting—a rigid bolt action, a clean trigger break, and sights you can actually adjust. The .22 LR cartridge is forgiving on recoil and ammo costs while being powerful enough to teach real rifle skills. Whether your kid is heading to 4-H, joining a youth shooting league, or learning rifle basics in the backyard, the Crickett delivers the simplicity and reliability that makes instruction stick.

The rifle's 16.125-inch blued barrel keeps things handy, and the green and black laminate stock handles the knocks that come with learning. Fixed front sight and adjustable rear peep sight mean you can dial in your zero without buying extra optics—this is iron-sight marksmanship, the way it should be taught. The single-shot design removes distractions and reinforces trigger discipline and follow-through. A 3-pound trigger pull is light enough to break clean, heavy enough to be safe in young hands.

Setup is straightforward: the rifle ships with the EZ Load Feed Ramp and swivel stud screws, so you're ready to shoot. No complicated takedown, no aftermarket essentials. Just a rifle that lets your young shooter focus on the fundamentals—sight picture, breathing, trigger control—without fighting the gun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Crickett .22LR good for first-time youth shooters?

Yes. The single-shot design eliminates distraction, the light recoil and low report of .22 LR make it confidence-building, and the adjustable peep sight lets young shooters see what they're doing. The 11.5-inch length of pull is sized specifically for kids and smaller-framed shooters, not scaled down from an adult rifle.

What comes in the box?

The rifle, EZ Load Feed Ramp, and swivel stud screws. It's ready to shoot with the iron sights as-is—no optics required.

Can I adjust the sights to zero?

The rear peep sight is adjustable, so you can dial in your zero. The front sight is fixed. Iron-sight marksmanship teaches the fundamentals without relying on optics.

What's the trigger pull like?

Approximately 3 pounds—light enough to break cleanly, but not so light that it compromises safety in young hands. It's designed to teach good trigger control.
