The Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett .22LR rifle in Mossy Oak Break-Up is a purpose-built .22 rimfire for young shooters, new hunters, and anyone building marksmanship fundamentals. This single-shot bolt-action rifle pairs a compact 11.5-inch length of pull with genuine hunting ergonomics, making it genuinely shootable for smaller frames without feeling like a toy. The hydrodipped synthetic stock handles weather better than wood, resists bumps in the truck bed, and the Mossy Oak Break-Up camo works as well behind a .22 as it does in the field.

At 3 pounds and 30 inches overall, this Crickett won't fatigue young shoulders on a long day of plinking or small-game hunting. The single-shot design enforces one-shot discipline and keeps shooters focused on making their first round count—a lesson that transfers directly to centerfire hunting later. The manually cocking bolt action is smooth and reliable, and the 16.125-inch barrel delivers consistent velocity with .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle ammunition, whether standard or high-velocity loads.

The rifle comes ready for optics: drilled and tapped for Crickett scope mounts, so adding a rimfire scope is straightforward. The factory sights—fixed front and adjustable rear peep—are proven for close-range work and don't need batteries or justification. The trigger breaks clean at around 2.5 to 3 pounds, giving shooters enough feedback without requiring a gunsmith's touch. The rebounding firing pin and automatic safety block mean you can hand this rifle to a young shooter with confidence that the mechanical safeties are doing their job.

Whether you're coaching your kid's first shots, teaching a friend to shoot, or running .22 rimfire for rabbits and squirrels, the Crickett in Mossy Oak delivers genuine rifle fundamentals in a platform that doesn't intimidate and doesn't lie about what a .22 can do.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Crickett .22LR good for teaching kids to shoot?

Yes. The 11.5-inch length of pull, lightweight design, minimal recoil, and single-shot action make this rifle purpose-built for young shooters. The compact proportions and straightforward mechanics let kids focus on fundamentals without fighting oversized equipment.

Can I mount a scope on this rifle?

Yes. The rifle is drilled and tapped to accept Crickett scope mounts, so adding an optic is straightforward. It also comes with factory peep and front sights for open-sight shooting right out of the box.

What ammunition does this .22 shoot?

The Crickett accepts .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle ammunition in both standard and high-velocity loads. This flexibility lets you match ammunition to your needs—lighter loads for reduced noise and recoil, or high-velocity for extended range.

How does the synthetic stock hold up in the field?

The hydrodipped synthetic stock is designed to resist weather, moisture, and rough handling. Unlike wood, it won't swell in humidity or crack in cold, making it ideal for hunters and shooters who don't baby their gear.
