The Heritage Mfg Rough Rider is a classic single-action revolver built for shooters who want affordable, reliable fun at the range or in the field. Chambered in both .22 LR and .22 Magnum, this 3.5-inch small-bore revolver gives you the versatility to shoot either cartridge without swapping guns — just swap cylinders. It's the kind of straightforward, no-fuss design that appeals to hunters working small game, target shooters, and anyone looking for a genuinely useful training platform or backup gun that won't break the bank.

Built on an aluminum-alloy frame with a blued steel barrel and cylinder, the Rough Rider tips the scales at just 33.4 ounces, making it easy to carry or store. The bird's head grip in pink pearlite gives it vintage charm without sacrificing control, and the fixed notch rear sight keeps things simple and effective for close to mid-range work. The single-action trigger breaks at 6 pounds — crisp and predictable, the way a revolver should feel.

With a 6-round capacity and an overall length of 8.785 inches, the Rough Rider is compact enough for everyday carry or pack storage, yet substantial enough to handle hunting scenarios where a light, reliable revolver beats fumbling with ammo or complex mechanisms. If you're drawn to the honest, timeless appeal of a single-action revolver and want a gun that works hard without ego, this is worth a close look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot both .22 LR and .22 Magnum in the same gun?

Yes. The Rough Rider comes with two cylinders — one for .22 LR and one for .22 Magnum. Simply swap cylinders to switch cartridges. You get the flexibility of two calibers in one revolver.

Is this a good small-game hunting revolver?

Absolutely. The 3.5-inch barrel and compact, lightweight design make it practical for hunting squirrels, rabbits, and other small game where a light, reliable handgun is an asset. The .22 Magnum cylinder gives you a bit more punch when you need it.

What's included with the revolver?

The product record confirms you receive the revolver with both cylinders — one for .22 LR and one for .22 Magnum — and the bird's head grip. If additional accessories are included, check with the retailer for current bundle details.

Is this suitable for a beginner or first-time revolver owner?

Yes. Single-action operation is straightforward and forgiving, and the modest recoil of .22 rimfire makes it ideal for learning proper trigger control and sight picture without flinching. It's also affordable to shoot in volume, which speeds up that learning curve.
