The Henry Steel Wildlife .30-30 Winchester lever action rifle is a refined take on an American hunting classic, built for shooters who appreciate tradition without sacrificing capability. With its 20-inch barrel, compact 39-inch overall length, and 7-pound heft, this rifle handles like a dream in brush and timber—ideal for hunting whitetail, mule deer, and black bear at typical hunting ranges. The blued steel receiver and barrel wear well in the field, and the fancy American walnut furniture gives this lever gun genuine character that improves with use.

What sets the Henry Steel Wildlife apart is its attention to detail. The engraved receiver features 24K gold inlay work that catches the light without being flashy, and swivel studs are already installed for a sling. The gun ships with open sights tuned for hunting: a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear with a diamond insert for precision, and a brass bead front that picks up light reliably in low conditions. If you want to mount a scope, the rifle is already drilled and tapped for Weaver 63B rings, giving you modern optics options without gunsmithing.

The action is pure Henry quality—smooth, reliable, and user-friendly. Transfer bar safety keeps you protected, and the five-round capacity works for hunting and targets alike. At 1:12 twist and chambered in the storied .30-30 Winchester, ballistics are straightforward: a cartridge that's dropped game across three generations and still gets the job done. The 14-inch length of pull fits most shooters comfortably, and the black ventilated rubber recoil pad soaks up the mild kick this caliber produces.

Whether you're looking for a capable deer rifle, a collector's lever gun, or a reliable backup for hunting camp, this Henry delivers at a price point that rewards smart spending. It's the kind of rifle that builds confidence in the woods.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this lever action rifle suitable for hunting deer and larger game?

Yes. The .30-30 Winchester has a proven track record on whitetail and mule deer, black bear, and hogs at typical hunting distances. The 20-inch barrel keeps the rifle nimble in woods and brush, and the adjustable rear sight lets you dial in your load. Many hunters use this rifle effectively out to 100 yards; if you want to extend range, the drilled-and-tapped receiver accepts a scope.

Can I mount a scope on this Henry lever action?

Absolutely. The rifle is drilled and tapped for Weaver 63B scope rings, so you can add optics without gunsmithing. The open sights—fully adjustable rear and brass bead front—work great as delivered, so it's your call whether to go with magnification or stick with iron sights.

What's included with the rifle?

The Henry Steel Wildlife ships with swivel studs already installed and a ventilated rubber recoil pad in place. Open sights are pre-fitted and ready to use. You'll need to supply your own ammunition and scope rings if you choose to scope it.

What's the difference between this Henry and other .30-30 lever actions?

The Steel Wildlife emphasizes heritage and aesthetics without cutting corners on function. The engraved receiver with 24K gold inlay, fancy American walnut, and fully adjustable rear sight set it apart. It's a rifle that works hard and looks good doing it—equally at home in a hunting camp or on a collector's rack.
