The Henry Golden Boy .22 WMR lever-action rifle is a timeless small-game and plinking rifle that combines Old West aesthetics with genuine shooting capability. This Model H004M chambers the .22 WMR cartridge and feeds from a 12-round tubular magazine, giving you enough firepower for a satisfying range session without constant reloads. The 20-inch octagonal barrel is blued, the receiver wears Brasslite (a brass-colored finish) for that authentic period look, and the American walnut furniture and brass buttplate round out a rifle that feels as good as it looks. At 6.75 pounds, it balances naturally for offhand shooting and won't wear you out during a day pursuing rabbits, squirrels, or varmints—or just punching paper at the range.

What sets the Golden Boy apart is its buttery-smooth lever action. Henry rifles are known for slick, effortless cycling, and this one delivers the kind of satisfaction that keeps shooters coming back. The rifle comes equipped with adjustable buckhorn rear sights and a beaded front sight, so you're ready to shoot out of the box without shopping for optics. The fit and finish reflect Henry's reputation for quality—the gun feels substantial in your hands and points naturally, whether you're shooting from the bench or standing.

This is a rifle that works. Hunters and plinkers who appreciate the simplicity and reliability of lever-action rifles, and who want a .22 WMR with serious range and knockdown power on small game, will find the Golden Boy a genuinely useful tool that also happens to look like it belongs in a frontier cabin. It's as practical as it is pretty.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the effective range and use case for .22 WMR on small game?

The .22 WMR (Magnum) cartridge offers more velocity and energy than standard .22 LR, making it effective for small game like rabbits, squirrels, and varmints out to practical hunting ranges. It's also popular with plinkers and range shooters who want a step up in power without the noise and recoil of centerfire rifles.

Does the Henry Golden Boy come with sights, or do I need to buy them separately?

This rifle includes adjustable buckhorn rear sights and a beaded front sight, so it's ready to shoot out of the box. You don't need to purchase sights unless you prefer to add optics or upgrade them.

How many rounds does the .22 WMR model hold?

The Model H004M in .22 WMR holds 12 rounds in its tubular magazine. (Note: Henry offers Golden Boy rifles in .22 LR that hold 16 rounds, and in .17 HMR that also hold 12 rounds.)

Is the Henry Golden Boy suitable for hunting and range shooting?

Yes. The rifle's balanced weight, natural handling, and smooth action make it equally at home hunting small game or practicing at the range. The included iron sights and .22 WMR cartridge give you practical hunting capability at an affordable price point.
