The Henry Big Boy Steel .41 Magnum lever action rifle combines classic American rifle heritage with a caliber built for serious handgun hunters and long-range revolver shooters. This modern-production rifle chambers the potent .41 Magnum cartridge, making it an excellent choice for hunters who already reload for or carry a .41 Magnum revolver and want rifle-level ballistics from the same round. The Big Boy Steel's 20-inch barrel delivers the caliber's velocity potential while keeping overall length at 37.5 inches—manageable enough for brush hunting yet substantial enough for accurate shooting at distance.

Built on Henry's proven lever-action platform, the rifle holds 10 rounds in the magazine tube, giving you multiple shots without reaching for a reload. The blued steel receiver, barrel, and lever age beautifully with honest use and develop character that synthetic finishes can't match. Checkered American walnut furniture provides a traditional, secure grip in wet conditions—no fancy coatings that feel slippery when your hands are cold or gloved. Sights are serious field iron: a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight with a white diamond insert for precise aiming, paired with a brass-beaded front sight that catches early and late light when precision matters most.

At 7 pounds, the Big Boy Steel is light enough to carry all day but heavy enough to manage recoil and maintain accuracy. This is a rifle for shooters who appreciate practical accuracy, don't need a modern platform, and want a rifle that rewards good technique. Handgun hunters stepping up to rifle, reloaders who've standardized on .41 Magnum, or anyone who simply prefers the manual operation and reliability of a lever gun will find a capable, straightforward tool here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who should buy a .41 Magnum lever-action rifle?

Handgun hunters who already shoot .41 Magnum revolvers, reloaders who've standardized on the cartridge, and shooters who prefer lever-action mechanics over modern platforms. It's a natural choice if you want rifle ballistics from a round you already know and reload for.

What's the difference between this rifle and Henry's Big Boy in other calibers?

The Big Boy Steel in .41 Magnum is chambered specifically for that cartridge and won't fire .357 Magnum or other rimmed rounds. The 10-round capacity, 20-inch barrel, sights, and walnut furniture are consistent with other Big Boy rifles; the .41 Magnum is what sets it apart.

Is this rifle good for hunting?

Yes. The .41 Magnum from a 20-inch barrel delivers rifle-level velocity, and the lever-action platform is reliable and fast between shots. The iron sights are field-ready, and the overall length and 7-pound weight make it manageable in brush. It's well-suited to medium-range hunting scenarios where handgun cartridges make sense.

Can I mount a scope on the Big Boy Steel .41 Magnum?

The rifle comes with traditional iron sights as described. For scope mounting options, contact us directly—Henry offers aftermarket solutions, but compatibility and installation are best confirmed before purchase.
