The Henry Big Boy Carbine in .41 Magnum is a large loop lever action rifle built for hunters and shooters who want classic American rifle handling in a compact, handy package. This is a genuine truck gun and backcountry rifle—short enough to carry in tight spaces, light enough to pack all day, and chambered in a cartridge that punches well above its weight for deer, hog, and medium game. The large loop lever makes gloved operation easy and keeps your hand clear of the action, while the 10-round capacity gives you confidence in the field without excess bulk.

Henry's Big Boy series has earned a reputation for quality and reliability, and this .41 Magnum variant delivers that heritage in a working rifle that feels like it belongs in your hands. The American walnut furniture and brass receiver, band, and buttplate strike that perfect balance between heirloom durability and field practicality. The blued lever and barrel resist corrosion and look purposeful without pretense. At 7.76 pounds with a 16.5-inch barrel and 35-inch overall length, this carbine transitions quickly from truck rack to shoulder and points naturally on moving game.

The factory Marbles semi-buckhorn rear sight and brass bead front are fully adjustable, letting you dial it in for your load and distance without aftermarket optics—though the top of the receiver accepts standard scope mounts if you prefer glass. This is the kind of rifle that works equally well as a ranch carbine, a hunting companion for brushy country, or a vehicle gun for property management. It's not a tactical platform or a target rifle; it's a straightforward lever gun that does one job exceptionally well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Big Boy Carbine good for hunting?

Yes. The .41 Magnum cartridge and 16.5-inch barrel make it effective for deer and medium game, especially in wooded or brushy terrain where sight lines are short. The compact size and light weight are ideal for hunters who hike or hunt from vehicles. The factory Marbles sights are up to the task, and the receiver can be mounted with optics if you prefer a scope.

Can I mount an optic on this rifle?

The top of the receiver accepts standard scope mounts, so yes—you can add a scope or red dot sight if you want. The factory iron sights are fully adjustable and work well out of the box, so optics are optional depending on your shooting distance and preference.

What does the large loop lever do?

The large loop lever gives you clearance to operate the action while wearing gloves or heavy clothing, and it keeps your hand further from the action and receiver—useful for safety and comfort during extended shooting. It also cycles smoothly and returns to battery quickly for follow-up shots.

Is this rifle suitable for vehicle carry?

Absolutely. At 35 inches overall and 7.76 pounds, the Big Boy Carbine is one of the handiest lever-action rifles for truck or ATV mounting. The compact profile and balanced weight make it ideal as a ranch or property gun, and the .41 Magnum hits harder than many common carbine cartridges.
